Our Tribute to The Witcher
That’s How He Became The Witcher
What was he to do?
Where was he to go?
He was out on his sphincter.
He was there to borrow sugar,
But the producer saw more.
He had guile!
He had hair!
He was there.
That’s how he became the Witcher!
Would go on and on… about it being fate?
Now the public finds him exciting
(Watch out Renfri!)
And the fans are actually smiling
(Such C G I!)
He is pest control in leather when everybody else is wearing wool.
The handsome boy from Jersey.
The Witcher is cool!

October Faction: Monster Hunting Brings Family Together
October Faction, like The Witcher, is a brand-new series from Netflix. A retired couple, Deloris and Fred Allen, has decided to take a step back from their adventurous life of monster hunting. When called back to work for a top-secret organization known as Presidio, they must do so while trying to hide their true identity from their teenage children.
October Faction is more of a family/coming-of-age centered show based on the classic comic by Steve Niles and Damien Worm. Netflix’s version of October Faction isn’t quite as dark as the original but still deals with some of its larger existential topics. The weapons are new and more high-tech. With that, the show provides a modern, science fiction feel to the monster hunting genre.
A subscription to Netflix is all you’ll need to catch the first season of this new and exciting monster-hunting show.

Merlin: Medieval times, a Legendary Sorcerer, and Exciting Adventures
Next on our list is Merlin. The story of Merlin takes place during the days of King Arthur. Merlin is a young wizard struggling to survive the times and is a servant to the crown prince, and later king, Arthur . The two form an unlikely bond, as Merlin helps Arthur to gain power and prestige in nobility.
Although Merlin is technically not a monster show, it does follow the theme of having a monster of the week. Each week the characters face off against dangerous threats toward Arthur and the Kingdom. Merlin must battle beastly foes to protect the kingdom of Camelot from certain doom. The show is also very mythical and magical. If you’re into period shows, then Merlin is perfect for you.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer follows a young woman who has been chosen to save the human race from an evil slew of vampires. Buffy encounters many monstrous creatures on her journey, but she does so with the help of her supportive friends. Together, they call themselves “The Scooby Gang.”
Angel is a similar show about a vampire who has gained a soul and is on the road to redemption. Buffy and Angel cross paths several times, while the actors who play Buffy and Angel respectively appear on each other’s shows. Both shows aired in the late 1990s and early 2000s. These are two great shows that complement each other nicely but are also very entertaining on their own.

Mountain Monsters: Where Monsters Meet Reality
Mountain Monsters is a truly unique spin on the monster hunting genre. A group of mountaineers treks the Appalachians in search of mysterious and unidentified creatures such as the Wampus and Mothman. Are the monsters real or legend? This seems like more of a reality show, but these things are usually 90% fiction. Mountain Monsters is simply a fun and enjoyable piece of television.
