ZUK Z2 Pro with 6GB RAM launched in China, ZUK Z1 could soon launch in India


Lenovo-backed ZUK has just Launched the Z2 Pro Smartphone in China. The company may also be planning to launch the brand in India. Lenovo has just sent out invites to media for an event. The invite hints about a device called Z1 to be launched on that day. The name Z1 strongly hints at the ZUK Z1 smartphone that was launched in China last year. The invite doesn’t have the dates mentioned for the event, but we can easily speculate it to happen later this month or early next month.
For those aren’t aware about ZUK, it is a sub-brand of Lenovo that was introduced in August last year. The sub-brand is Internet exclusive and targeted at the youth. The Z1 was the first flagship smartphone under this brand and was launched in China for 1,799 Yuan, Rs 18,000 approximately.

It is powered by a Snapdragon 801 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM, and offers 64GB internal storage, with no option for expansion. For photography, the Z1 comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera featuring OIS and an 8-megapixel front shooter. It is powered by 4,100mAh battery.
The smartphone runs on ZUI based on Android 5.1.1 and is upgradable to Android Marshmallow. The international version of the smartphone comes with Cyanogen OS. Other features include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi and USB Type-C support.

                  

The invite for the Z1 comes shortly after ZUK unveiled the Z2 Pro smartphone. The smartphone is available in two variants, one with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage and 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage variant is called Standard Edition. Both the variants are powered by Snapdragon 820 processor.
The ZUK Z2 Pro sports a 5.2-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with 424ppi. The smartphone comes with 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS, f/1.8 aperture and 1.34um pixel size and 8-megapixel front facing camera. It is powered by a 3,100mAh battery and supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 and USB Type-C.
ZUK has only revealed price of its 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model, which is 2,699 Yuan, roughly Rs 27,000.
