Apple has announced a photo and video Editing App for iOS, dubbed Clips. The app is snapchat for those who don’t get snap.
Clips is a live video editing app, much like Snapchat does. To get started, just hit a big ol record button for a few seconds. After that, you’re ready to start editing. You can join multiple clips, or add artistic filters, speech bubbles, shapes or emoji. No expertise required here.
Clips also introduces Live Titles, a feature that lets users create animated captions and titles using just their voice. You also get effects like comic book filters, speech bubbles, shapes and full-screen animated posters. It’s like an entry version of iMovie.
With clips, Apple is not launching a social network. Instead, you share through established networks like Facebook, Instagram, as well as their own Messages app. Maybe Apple learned a lesson or two from Google plus. You don’t just lauch a social network. It’s a good thing for Facebook, not so much for Snap. It helps the Facebook family in their fight against Snap, as their video editing game is just weaker.
