Samsung teases Exynos 9 Series, could power Galaxy S8

Samsung teased series 9 for its Exynos chipsets via @SamsungExynos account on Twitter. This could end up driving the next flagships.

The S8 duo was rumoured to use the Exynos 8895 chipset for the Exynos versions. But Samsung would probably want to put up the latest and greatest toe to toe with the Snapdragon version. In the recent generations, the Exynos versions have performed on par with, if not  better than the snapdragon versions.

Samsung released no details about the chip, but it will be manufactured on 10nm. This translate to about 30% higher area efficiency. There’s also up to 30% more performance or 27% less power usage. This is the same process they will use to manufacture the Snapdragon 835. Which, by the way, they will hoard for use in the S8, depriving other manufacturers.

We expect Samsung will shed some light on the Galaxy S8 at the MWC. That would at least fill in the gaps between the rumors. Or maybe they will continue to enjoy teasing some radical changes and the media coverage.
