September 7th: The Birth of the iPhone 7

Tags: iphone

September is my best month of the year. Care to know why? In the Tech world, September means the birth of a new generation of apple products; at least it’s meant that in the past four years. I’ve waited all year for this and I’m glad that Apple would be holding an event on September 7th in San Francisco, USA where it is expected that the iPhone 7 and other apple products would be launched.

Since this is an entire new model and not just an upgrade to an existing one, there’s a lot of expectation as well as rumours flying around the internet as regards the next generation iPhone – iPhone 7.

iPhone 3GS: June 19th, 2009

iPhone 6 & iPhone 6 Plus: September 19th, 2014

iPhone SE: March 31st, 2016

Here are some of the things we expect to see with the launch of the iPhone 7. There’s no guarantee that we’ll see all of this, at least not on the iPhone 7 but here are just a few things we can expect:

iPhone 7:

Everybody should be able to tell by now. It’s definitely going to be a new phone with a new model number. We’re done with the 6, the 6s and the 6s Plus. We’re definitely seeing an iPhone 7 on September 7th, 2016.

Iphone 6 Look-alike:

The iPhone 7 which would be revealed in a couple of days is expected to look pretty much like the iPhone 6, the only difference being that some of those antenna lines at the rear side is expected not to be seen any more, hence giving it a cleaner look.

No headphone jack:

This is one of the strongest and most impacting rumours we’ve gathered. The popular 3.5mm headphone jack that is present on almost all of our electronics including all previous iPhone models is said to be absent in the iPhone 7.

Airpods:

Music is an integral part of Apple, even though the removal of the headphone jack might not be so welcomed at first, eventually it would gain widespread acceptability.

Before the much anticipated widespread acceptability is achieved, it is expected that Apple would offer other ways to listen to music. Rumours have it that Apple would be making a new earpods that would connect via the lightning connector instead of a headphone jack or that Apple will make wireless earbuds, that may be referred to as AirPods.

Dual Rear Camera:

Like what we have in the LG G5 and Huawei P9, Apple is expected to add a second camera to the back. This camera is supposed to help improve sharpness and detail as well as offer a zoomed-in view.

However, it is said that the second rear camera would only be present in the higher model (iPhone 7 Plus) while the regular model will get updates such as image stabilization that has only been on the Plus models in the past two years.

No More 16GB:

Apple is said to finally ditch the 16GB storage model of iPhone which it has always used as an entry-level iphone.

The entry level iphone 7 is expected to start at 32GB storage.

Pressure Sensitive Cickless Home Button:

According to 9to5Mac the trademark apple home button is expected to change, even though only in a subtle way.

The home button on the iPhone 7 is expected to be pressure sensitive, haptic feedback technology would make it feel as though you’re pushing it, yet there won’t be any physical movement of the home button, yeah it won’t click in.

Waterproof:

This is one feature we have been waiting all these years to have on the iPhone. The only reason we can pardon the removal of the headphone jack on the iPhone 7 is if and only if it’ll be water resistant.

We expect that the iPhone 7 will be waterproof, this is a feature other flagship competitors boast of, yet we’re yet to see on the iPhone.

Wireless Charging:

Even though the rumours on this feature are sketchy, we expect that the iPhone 7 should also support wireless charging.

Everything Else:

It is expected that the iPhone 7 would launch alongside its plus model – IPhone 7 Plus as this has been the trend in the past 2 years.

Definitely, the iPhone 7 will come with new processors, probably more RAM and is expected have a thinner build. There are also other rumorus that suggest a dual SIM tray, but some of these might not be happening this year.

We’re also expecting to see another Apple Watch, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, iPad Pro, iPad Air, iPad mini, Apple TV and any other Apple innovation.

September 7th is already upon us, let’s keep our fingers crossed and wait for the event to unfold.
