How to Turn ON Instagram’s Dark Mode on iPhone in iOS 13 or iOS 12

Before the release of iOS 13, it was Dark Mode on iPhone and iPad, which was the talking point in the tech media world over. Now that Apple has packed this feature in its mobile devices, some third-party apps began to include this feature for iOS owners. Instagram never wanted to miss this opportunity to join the popular bandwagon. And recently, the social networking service has updated its app so that users can turn on Dark Mode in Instagram on iPhone running iOS 13.

However, many users are not running their iPhones on iOS 13; they are happy with iOS 12 and previous software versions. How can they get dark mode on Instagram on their iPhones in iOS 12 or earlier? Thankfully, there are solutions. By following this guide, you should be able to enable dark mode on your Instagram.

How to Get Dark Mode on Instagram on iPhone in iOS 13

Step #1. First off, update your Instagram app to its latest version. Currently, Instagram is running its version 115.1.

Step #2. Now bring up Control Center on your iPhone. If you have iPhone 8 Plus or earlier, swipe up from the bottom or If you own iPhone X or later devices, you need to swipe down from the top right corner to use Control Center.

Step #3. On the brightness indicator, press your finger and hold it for a moment.

Step #4. Your iPhone screen now shows three things: a brightness adjustment bar, Dark Mode, and Night Shift options.

By default, Dark Mode is turned off. Tap on Dark Mode to enable the feature. You can now see Dark Mode On.

Alternatively, you can also enable dark mode on your iPhone from Settings → Display & Brightness.

Next, tap on Dark under the APPEARANCE.

Now, open your Instagram app and check the beautiful effects of Dark Mode in the app.
