How to Fix Bluetooth Not Working Issue on iPhone and iPad Running iOS 11

Quick links

  • Turn Off/On Bluetooth
  • Remove all the paired devices
  • Reset network settings
  • Reset all settings
  • Update iOS

Solution #1: Turn OFF/ON Bluetooth and Hard Reset Your Device

One of the first tricks that you should try to fix this issue is turn off Bluetooth (also turn off Bluetooth device) and then hard reset your iOS device. Then, turn on the Bluetooth and the device you are trying to connect with your iPhone. Next, try pairing them again.

One thing worth mentioning is that you can't completely turn off Wi-Fi and Bluetooth from Control Center on iOS 11. Hence, you need to head into Settings app → Bluetooth and then toggle off the switch.

Then, hard reboot your device. Just press and hold the Home button and sleep/wake button at once until you see Apple logo on the screen.

On iPhone 7/7 Plus, you have to press and hold the volume down and sleep/wake buttons at once to force restart it.

Solution #2: Remove All the Paired Devices and Start Afresh

If the aforementioned solution didn't yield the desired result, remove all the paired devices → reboot your iPhone. And once your device has restarted, try to connect it with the Bluetooth accessory.

Step #1. Open Settings app → Tap on Bluetooth.

Step #2. Tap on the “i” button next to a connected device.

Step #3. Tap on Forget this device and confirm.

Step #4. Then, turn off Bluetooth.

Step #5. Now, reboot your device. When it has restarted, turn on Bluetooth and try connecting them again.

Solution #3: Reset Network Settings

Haven't been able to fix the problem as yet? Reset the network settings to factory default. It would wipe out website login information and Wi-Fi passwords. So, be prepared to enter them again.

Step #1. Open Settings app → General.

Step #2. Scroll down and tap on Reset.

Step #3. Tap on Reset Network Settings, enter your iPhone passcode and confirm.

Solution #4: Reset All Settings

Haven't found the solution yet? Go for complete factory default. Don't worry all of your media and files will remain safe.

Step #1. Open Settings → Tap on General.

Step #2. Tap on Reset.

Step #3. Tap on Reset All Settings, enter your iPhone passcode and confirm.

Solution #5: Update iOS on your iDevice

If all the above-mentioned solutions have failed to fix the problem, then it's time to go for the iOS upgrade.

Head over to Settings → Go to General.

Tap on Software Update and then download and install the latest version of iOS 11.

That's it.

In case, if nothing works, contact Apple care.
