Snapchat has launched an all new web tool that allows you to create your own custom On-Demand Geofilters. Better still, you can do it using your own graphics or pre-made templates which would cost just $5 (starting price which varies based on location and time) for a memorable party. Moreover, you don’t require any image editing software to get things done as desired.
After you publish your creation, guests will bump into it while posting their snap during the event. You can make an On-Demand Geofilter active for up to 30 days or even one hour as per your need.
Things You Need to Know:
- Make sure your Geofilter design ideally Snapchat’s guidelines.
- Before going on to publish your own Geofilter, you need to select a time and set a geofence where it will show up. It’s advisable to allow Snapchat at least one working day in order to review your submission.
- Allow at least one business day to Snapchat in order to review and approve it.
Personal Geofilters Vs Business Geofilters
Personal Geofilters are designed to promote your own events as well as custom locations. They can be fantastic for weddings, reunions, birthdays and more. Furthermore, you can use them for private locations such as your farmhouse for up to 30 days.
As compared to Private Geofitlers, Business Geofilters comprises of marks, logos or branding and more. They can be fabulous in making your business more dynamic.
How to Create Your Own Geofilters for Snapchat
Step #1. First up, open any web browser on your desktop and head over to snapchat.com/on-demand.
Step #2. Next, you need to click on the Create Now to start off the process.
Step #3. Now, you will have to sign in with your Snapchat username and password. Make sure to check the box labeled “I’m not a robot” and click on Log in to continue.
(In case, you have protected your Snapchat account using two-factor authentication, you will have to enter a one-time code to authenticate it.)
Step #4. Click the Design tab on the right, then choose your Geofilter type to continue.
Step #5. Click your preferred categories such as Birthdays, Celebrations or Weddings.
Cool! Check out your first template and its perfect color palette. Now, you can select any interesting overlay graphics; customize the filter as desired. As for instance, you can insert texts and even apply a nice color palette to it.
If you don’t want to spend much money and want to use your own graphics, you can upload your own images, just like before.
Step #6. Once you have designed the filter to your best liking, click on Next.
Step #7. Select your time frame, add start/end dates as well as times for the filter and click on next. Up next, make sure to choose a geofenced area between 20,000 and 5,000,000 square feet as the filter will appear in it for others to use.
It’s better to draw a geofence which can cover your preferred location and some area outside of that.
Step 8. Finally, confirm the action and enjoy making the most of your filters.
How to View your On-Demand Geofilter’s Metrics
Step #1. Go to the Snapchat website to view your On-Deman Geofilter’s metrics.
Step #2. Next, you need to log into your account.
Step #3. Click on your account name at the top right corner.
Step #4. Select My Geofilters and choose the filter.
Step #5. Scroll down to see your metrics such as the number of times a Snapchatter viewed a Snap with your Geofilter in a Story.
BTW, the delivery status will appear in In Review if the submission hasn’t yet been reviewed. Once it’s done, you will see Approved or Rejected in place of it. You will also get an email confirming your submission has been reviewed.
