Things to Do This Weekend in London

Strongroom Beer Fest

Saturday 22nd June 2019. £37.90.

Another weekend, another beer festival. And this weekend it’s the turn of Shoreditch’s much loved Strongroom Bar & Kitchen. The very first Strongroom Beer Fest will be celebrating beers from around the UK and Europe, with over 20 breweries getting involved inside and out.

The likes of Signature Brewery, Siren Craft Beer Co, Mikkeller, Lost & Grounded and Wild Beer will all be there, alongside a line-up of DJ’s, live music and a smokin’ BBQ in the yard to ensure you don’t get famished. Tickets aren’t cheap but you do get your own glass, a tote bag and all the beer is included.

The Art Car Boot Fair

Sunday 23rd June 2019. From £10.

The famed Art Car Boot Fair is celebrating its sweet sixteenth birthday this Sunday, with over 120 artists creating original pieces for the day. For those unfamiliar with the concept, the Art Car Boot Fair is an annual curated contemporary art event where artists are invited to create artworks especially for the day and show up in person to sell them at heavily discounted prices.

This year expect works from the likes of Juno Calypso, Jessica Voorsanger, Polly Morgan, Marcus Harvey, Pam Hogg, Patrick Hughes, Ben Eine, Sara Pope, Colin Self, Dion Kitson, Keira Rathbone, Wilfred Wood and more. There’ll also be food & drink, mystery prizes, raffles, pass the art parcel, the art of dating and a Secret Midsummer Art Casino.

Things to Do This Weekend in Manchester

Manchester Day 2019

Sunday 23rd June 2019. Free.

This Sunday the good people of MCR will get to celebrate their city with the annual Manchester Day parade and party. The theme this year is ‘10 out of 10’, aptly marking ten years of celebrations. The parade will kick off on Princess Street at 1pm before heading to Peter Street and Deansgate, finishing up at the Cathedral around 2.30pm.

There’s also a whole load of other stuff going on around the city, with the likes of the Manchester Food and Drink Festival making an early appearance with a mouth-watering selection of street food traders, including Middle Eastern and Mediterranean kings The Ottomen, Dutch-style fish and chips from The Dutch Fishmen, and Thai street food from Somtam Street.

Things to Do This Weekend in Birmingham

BBQ Fest 2019

Saturday 22nd June 2019. From £3.50.

There’s a BBQ Fest taking place in Digbeth this weekend, with some of the best traders from the Midlands and beyond descending on The Bond Company. Alongside all the barbecued street food you can eat, there’ll also be a food produce market, live music and DJ sets throughout the day, as well as a craft market and children’s entertainment.

Local legends Buddha Belly will be offering up their Thai-style BBQ food, while the likes of Baked in Brick, Little Urban BBQ and Grill Brazil will be serving their meaty-goodness too. The Cocktail Caravan will also be there with plenty of summer themed cocktails and glasses of bubby will be available from the Wine & Fizz van.

Things to Do This Weekend in Norwich

Prosecco & Gin Festival Norwich

Saturday 22nd June. From £14.

The touring Prosecco and Gin Festival heads to Norwich for the first time this Saturday. Taking place at OPEN Norwich, the festival promises over 60 carefully selected gins and a bar dedicated to providing a large selection of sparkling wines and prosecco’s to choose from.

As well as a selection of samples, it’s also a great chance to meet some of the premier gin makers around, who’ll be offering insight and tips on all things juniper. With your ticket, you’ll get a drinks token (worth £5!), a branded event glass to take home and a booklet containing tasting notes, serving suggestions and cocktail ideas.
