In the summertime where the weather is fine, we’ve all normally got daytime drinking on our mind. While London can be a nightmare for finding a cheap and cheerful pint, it can be a haven for boozing joints with views to kill for. With that in mind, we’ve come up with a list of our favourite roof terrace bars right across our great nation’s capital! Here’s London’s best rooftop bars for summer 2017.

Queen of Hoxton Rooftop Bar
Location: 1 Curtain Road, EC2A 3JX.
Nearest Station: Liverpool Street
The Queen of Hoxton represents the very best things about East London. Its rooftop is open all year around and is most known for its themed pop-up events which change every summer and winter. For summer 2017 the rooftop has been transformed into Bangarang!, the Queen of Hoxton’s very own Never Never Land. Hang out with the mermaids in a seashell by the blue lagoon, refill your glass at The Lost Boy’s hideout Bar, or climbing aboard the pirate ship to meet your fate.
Skylight London
Location: Tabacco Dock, Pennington St. Car Park entrance, E1W 2SF.
Nearest Station: Shadwell
Themed around an urban lawn club, they can be few more quintessentially British pop-ups this summer than Skylight London. Combining the almightiest of garden parties with street food and cocktails on the rooftop of the Tobacco Dock, Skylight comes with a 600 capacity, multiple bars, food joints, three croquet lawns and two petanque courts, all set against some of the finest views in the city. Food is provided by the likes of East London burger maestros, We Serve Humans.
Boundary Rooftop Bar
Location: 2-4 Boundary Street, E2 7DD.
Nearest Station: Shoreditch High Street
Another Shoreditch addition to our list, the Boundary is perfect if you’re looking for something a little more upmarket. The rooftop space in the Boundary includes a weatherproof pergola allowing the bar and dining area to remain open every day and all year – no matter the weather. The garden design includes a canopy of grapes producing vines plus a working kitchen garden to give the place a real Mediterranean vibe. They also do tapas and meats on a proper grill if you get ravenous in the sun.
No. 32 The Old Town Rooftop Bar
Location: 32 The Pavement, SW4 0JE.
Nearest Station: Clapham High Street
Very few places in South London thrive more in the warmer weather than Clapham’s array of bars and gastros. We think No.32 The Old Town is one of the best in the district with a roof terrace that looks directly onto Clapham Common. You can’t reserve a table on the terrace but if you’re lucky enough to get a space, you’ll be treated to classic cocktails with a twist and sophisticated sharing platters that will hit the summer spot.
Frank’s Café Rooftop Bar
Location: 10th Floor, Peckham Multi-Story Carpark, 95A Rye Lane, SE15 4ST.
Nearest Station: Peckham Rye
Frank’s Café is a summer-only pop-up bar which started a decade ago back in 2007. Back every year since, Frank’s sits on top of Peckham’s multi-storey car park in summer and while Peckham isn’t known for much more than Only Fools and Horses, the views under the red canopy across London are hard to beat.
Dalston Roof Park
Location: 18 Ashwin Street, E8 3DL.
Nearest Station: Dalston Kingsland
Nestled amongst Hackney’s Victorian buildings and overlooking London’s skyscrapers, Dalston’s only rooftop venue is a real gem. Whether you’re in to poetry, fashion, films, music, yoga or and music, you name it, the Roof Park has you covered. The garden music venue is plushly turfed and brimming with flowers, boasting two bars and even a state-of-the-art retractable roofing system for when the rains inevitably arrive!
Casa Havana at Skylounge
Location: Double Tree Hilton Tower London, 7 Pepys Street, EC3N 4AF.
Nearest Station: Tower Hill
Bringing a taste of Cuba to London this summer, Havana Club Rum has remodelled the famed Skylounge rooftop bar terrace at the Hilton’s Double Tree venue into a Cuban retreat. The fourth-month pop-up residency will allow guests to immerse themselves within the relaxed Cuban vibe and feel as though they have travelled to Old Havana itself. Naturally cocktails will be the order of the day with a series of ‘Cuban Classic’ and ‘Future Classic’ cocktails imagined by Havana Club Rum’s Brand Ambassadors. As well as Cuban music, food is also sorted with traditional dishes on offer such as fried green plantains and Red Snapper ceviche with serrano chillies and a tomato jelly, followed by Pastelitos de Guayaba and Churros with Salted Caramel Sauce.
Radio Rooftop Bar
Location: 336-337 Strand, WC2R 1HA.
Nearest Station: Temple
Located just across from Somerset House, the Radio Rooftop bar can be found on the 10th floor of ME London, accessible via a dedicated express lift. It’s open throughout the day until 2am (Thursday – Saturday) and serves a Spanish tapas-inspired menu as well as modern cocktails. While the architecture is striking enough, the real selling point is Radio Rooftop’s stunning South Bank views: Tower Bridge, the Shard, London Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Tate Modern, Somerset House, the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament are all visible.
