Here’s a step-by-step guide on enabling and using Live Translate on your Galaxy S24:

Enabling Live Translate

Before you can tap into the transformative potential of Live Translate, you’ll first need to activate this feature within your device’s settings. Below is a quick guide to getting you started on this process:

• 1. Open Settings >Tap Advanced features.
• 2. Tap Advanced intelligence.
• 3. Tap Phone.
• 4. Toggle the switch to On. * If a pop-up window appears when you tap the switch, follow the on-screen instructions.
• 5. Set your language in the Me section and the other person’s language in the Other person section.

If a particular language needs to be downloaded, click the download icon next to it. Once the download is complete, scroll back to the top and select the desired language.

Note: Live Translate settings can also be accessed via the Samsung Phone app by clicking on More Options (represented by three vertical dots) > Settings > Live Translate.

Using Live Translate During Calls

After setting up Live Translate, you’re ready to experience seamless translation during phone calls:

1. Initiate or answer a call using the native phone app and select Call Assist.
2. Choose Live Translate.
3. The Bixby voice assistant will automatically kick in, using the language configuration set in your device’s settings to start the conversation.

Bear in mind that the quality of translations may vary.

Additional features include Mute Voice, which allows you to silence either your voice or the other party’s during a call. Only the translation will be audible. Furthermore, you can establish language and voice presets for each contact or specific phone numbers, creating a tailored call experience.
