Sometimes it's just hard to get a good selfie— and that is something a Maine teen learned all too well while trying to take a picture with a resident rodent.

The unidentified teen described his harrowing ordeal:

"I approached it making a clicking noise with my tongue; Phone drawn,” he said. “When I got close enough, the Squirrel actually tried grabbing my phone. I shook it off, then snapped this photo.”

Luckily, Mom was there to snap a photo of the aftermath:
