Corsair Void RGB Elite – Best Affordable Wireless Headset

      Corsair Gaming VOID RGB Elite...

        Pros:

        • Great sound quality
        • Mic Recording quality is good
        • Nice design
        • Carbon finish looks great
        • Exceptionally soft foam padding
        • Very breathable

        Cons:

        • Sound leakage affects bass tightness
        • Only the logo is RGB
        • Cue software (Not the best if you’re only using it for headphones)

The Corsair Void RGB Elite comes as one of the best headsets with amazing mic quality. Many gaming headsets have fallen short when it comes to the mic, so being able to see one on a budget that offers amazing audio production is something I so love.

The Void Elite comes with 50mm drivers which helps extend the frequency range from 20,000Hz to 30,000Hz. While the improvement is at a level that’s unsafe for the human ears, the Void Elite augments the sounds we hear very well. The mic is certified by Discord, and it comes with better sensitivity when compared to other Corsair Void headsets.

The Void Elite comes with a heavy metal frame, soft fabrics that serve as cushions on the ear cups, and the band that is great for all head sizes as it is easily adjustable. The design is probably the most sturdy and best quality among the affordable wireless gaming headsets we will be talking about here.

The fabrics that are covering the earpads are very flexible, so if you are looking for gaming headsets for people who use glasses, then you should try the Void Elite. I also noticed that the hinges on the headphones aren’t very great if you’re trying to tilt the headset vertically, but since the band can be easily adjusted, I feel it compensates perfectly.

On the left earcup, the headset has controls for the mic mute and the volume. In case you’re not inclined to use the mute/unmute button, the mic is designed to mute itself automatically when you flip it up, so that’s still dope.

The headset also comes with a 2.4 GHz RF USB dongle which means you’d be able to use it with PCs, PS4, PS4 Pro, and PS5. You just have to plug the dongle into the USB port, turn your headset on and it’s working. According to the company, using the headset in wireless with the USB dongle can give you a connection range of around 40 feet.

As for the battery, we were able to get around 20 hours of consistent playback out of the device before the battery died, we noticed that the battery dropped faster when we decided to turn the LED light on, so you should take note of that.

The Corsair Void RGB Elite produces an amazing sound quality in-game. The quality of the mic was also good as it doesn’t collect on background noise and is great for communicating with teammates. As for the headphones, they performed well for movies, music, and gaming, and you’d completely fall in love with them when you implement the surround sound. Overall, the Corsair Void RGB Elite easily passes as one of the best budget wireless gaming headsets I have personally tried my hands on.

SteelSeries Arctis 1 – Best Portable Gaming Headset

        SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless...

          Pros:

          • Long battery life
          • Very comfortable over the ears
          • Noise-canceling is solid
          • Works very well for gaming
          • Being able to go wired or wireless
          • Quality Compact Design
          • Detachable microphone
          • Works with smartphones and other gadgets
          • Great signal range

          Cons:

          • Mic Quality isn’t the best

The SteelSeries Arctis 1 will easily pass as one of the best when it comes to budget wireless gaming headsets. The Arctis 1 comes with the same framework as higher-priced headsets like the Arctis Pro and the Arctis 7, two headsets that are known for their powerful sound quality and microphone.

The Arctis 1 comes with support for PS4, PS4 Pro, PC, Nintendo Switch, and Android. It comes with a dongle that allows you to make use of the wireless feature on all of your devices, which is one of the newest features on gaming headsets. The Arctis 1 also comes in a plastic build, which is a walk away from the aluminum frame we find on the premium headsets from SteelSeries.

I should also add that the Arctis 1 comes with a plastic band with a very comfortable leatherette cushion on the airweave fabric pads known with SteelSeries products. These pads are great for comfort as they don’t cause heating and they’re soft on the skin. The Arctis 1’s earcups are big enough for even gamers with large ears, and that’s one thing I couldn’t get enough of.

I loved how the headset band clamps down tightly, and the headset fits securely on my head, doesn’t look like it’s going to fall off due to frequent movement. The Arctis 1 also comes with its on-ear controls, you will find the volume control and mic mute switch on the left earcup. You can detach the 3.5mm microphone if you need only the headphones to game. While the mic does the job for most people, it follows the steps of even the best gaming headsets, the mic simply isn’t the best.

The Arctis 1 sports SteelSeries Lossless 2.4GHz wireless frequency, which is great when you are having a very low latency wireless connection on PS4 and PCs. While the company stated that the headset can run for 20 hours of use, we were able to juice out around 24 hours out of the gaming headset on one charge.

Overall, the Arctis 1 does carry me for a couple of hours and I didn’t feel like there was any kind of discomfort throughout the time I used the headset. On the games, I can say that the directional sound was great as I used it for games like Overwatch, Minecraft, Assasin Creed, and World of Warcraft.

I also really appreciate the fact that it comes with an option to use a 3.5mm audio jack, which means you’d be able to use it with every device you have, not just your gaming consoles and PCs.

HyperX Cloud Stinger Core – Best Wireless Headset with Microphone for Laptop

          HyperX Cloud Stinger Core -...

            Pros:

            • Noise cancellation is solid OK.
            • Comfort
            • Sound Range is great
            • The design doesn’t feel cheap

            Cons:

            • The mid-range sound is a bit too quiet
            • Mic quality is not fantastic
            • Battery life isn’t great. Maybe 14 hours

The HyperX Cloud Stinger Core is one of the top options if you’re looking for the best wireless headset with a microphone for laptops and desktop computers. The Cloud Stinger Core comes with 7.1 Surround Sound, it is lightweight, you enjoy immersive in-game audio, and it comes with one of the best adjustable sliders I have used.

The gaming headset weighs around 244 grams, the earcups are big enough for even gamers with large ears. The earcups are coated with a soft cushion made from a breathable material, so they are soft and don’t get warm when gaming for long hours.

The Cloud Stinger Core is a pretty much plug-n-play gaming headset. As soon as you insert the dongle into the USB drive, you’ll hear the sound change and it’s good to go. The surround sound works well, I was able to distinctly hear enemies and note the direction they’re shooting or coming from, and this is very handy when you’re playing games like Fortnite and COD. I should add that while it comes with minimal surround sound, the Cloud Stinger Core isn’t perfect when it comes to completely blocking out outside noise, although it does a pretty good job of blocking any noise that will interfere with your gaming.

The battery ran for around 14 hours, which is a little lower than what we find among other gaming headsets on this list. The mic isn’t detachable, which is one of the drawbacks especially if you plan to get a budget wireless gaming headset that will double as your daily driver. The only freedom you have with the mic is that it does swivel and can be put away from the face with ease.

You’d also appreciate that the headset is compatible with all your gaming systems, from your computers to your PS4, PS5, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch gaming consoles. Whatever has a slot for a USB drive should be able to run this gaming headset.

Turtle Beach Stealth 600 – Best Affordable Wireless Headset for PS4 and Xbox

            Turtle Beach Stealth 600 White...

              Pros:

              • Fully wireless
              • Comfortable
              • clear sound
              • Surround sound and Superhuman Hearing are fun to try.
              • Battery life is outstanding
              • Great for players who wear glasses
              • Xbox One version is dongle-free

              Cons:

              • The volume knobs are in an odd place
              • Don’t turn these to the max

Powerful wireless performance, long-lasting battery life, a gamer-centric style and design are just a few of the best things about the Turtle Beach Stealth 600. The Stealth 600 comes in two variants designed specifically for Xbox One and the Xbox Series X gaming consoles, while the second variant is designed specifically for the PS4 and PS4 Pro consoles. Both variant are compatible with Windows 10 PCs.

The company clocked the battery life of the Stealth 600 at around 15 hours, but on our test of the headset, we were able to squeeze around 18 hours of gaming out of the headset, which is a plus for a gaming headset in this range. The headset comes with 50mm drivers and 20,000Hz frequency, and these add up to deliver crisp deeps, highs and powerful lows.

The left earcup is where the flip-down mic is located with the power and mode buttons. The mic is designed to unmute when flipped down and mute when flipped back up, while the mode button is used to activate the surround sound, while you’re also able to use it to adjust and change between the equalizer presets. If you hold down the power button, you’ll be able to activate a feature called Superhuman Hearing.

Connecting the Stealth 600 to your PC and gaming consoles is seamless, you just have to plug the dongle into the device, turn the headset on, and you’re good to go. The one downside of the headset is that it doesn’t come with support for a 3.5mm audio jack, so your chances of being able to use the headset with your mobile devices are close to zero.

I also loved how the headset is easily adjustable and should work with most head sizes comfortably. There are some extra plush foam padding on the top, and instead of using the leathery covering on the ear cups, the Stealth 600 comes with mesh fabric which feels like a microfiber clothing on the touch. The earcups aren’t too harsh on the skin, they are big enough to house the ears, even if yours is on the bigger side, and they don’t cause your ears to heat or sweat. I use glasses, so I can say I loved how the padding around the ear cups isn’t too hard, putting very little pressure on the frames without affecting the quality of the sound or causing discomfort.

The quality of the sound produced was crisp and clear out-of-the-box. Other members of my team have stated that the mic produces clear sound, which is also a plus for the Stealth 600. I played games like COD and Fortnite, and the surround sound that was produced is great. I tried the Superhuman Hearing feature when gaming and I discovered that certain features of the sound were improved. I was able to hear sounds like footsteps, weapon reloads, and gunfire more clearly.

If you’re also looking for a gaming headset that you can use for movies and music, I must add that the Stealth 600 passes on that front. I listened to Spotify on the PS4 and I used it to watch shows on Hulu and Netflix and it performed well.

The Stealth 600 sure passes on a couple of fronts, making it into this list as the best affordable wireless headset for PS4 and Xbox. The sound quality was great, the mic was OK, the wireless connectivity was seamless, and I must add that the Stealth 600 was especially designed for comfort.

Mpow Air – Best Cheap Gaming Headset for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC

              Mpow Air I Wireless Gaming...

                Pros:

                • Good build quality
                • Very comfortable for long-term gaming/listening
                • The sound was great, very good audio and bass
                • Durable, high-quality build
                • Mic Quality

                Cons:

                • No cord splitter in the box.
                • No software to make adjustments in wireless

The Mpow Air comes as the cheapest wireless gaming headset on our list, but it sure comes with so many cool features that made me add it to this list. The Mpow Air comes with a detachable noise-canceling microphone, while the headphones come fitted with double chambers. The double chambers and the 50mm drivers help to deliver an immersive 3D audio experience.

The Mpow Air also sports a 2.4GHz wireless frequency, which works well for PCs and PS4 consoles. It also comes with a 3.5mm audio cable out-of-the-box that comes handy if you want to use the headset for Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and smartphones.

The battery performed well on our test, delivering around 18 hours of battery life, while the 3.5mm audio jack comes handy when you want to continue gaming even when the headset battery goes flat.

You’d love the memory foam that was used on the earpads and the headband. The headband is made from lightweight aluminum, it can be adjusted to fit different head sizes, and it also fits tightly on the head. The earpads are not too tight on the skin, so even when using eyeglasses, you should be able to use the headset for a couple of hours with no discomfort.

The sound quality was great, but I noticed that there were some compression issues in the wireless mode. I loved how I could hear the smallest in-game sounds, from weapon reload, to the movement of enemies and the direction of gunshots. The mic came with more focus on lower voice frequencies and acoustic noise canceling.

Overall, the Mpow Air is one of the best budget wireless gaming headsets I have tested, and it sure deliverers on the most important needs of every gamer.
