A stripdown of each cheap gaming monitor

I’d share some of the key specifications of each of these monitors. Overall, they are perfect monitors for all your gaming. The minimum screen size is 24 inches, so you can expect to get a great and close-to-real viewing experience.

Sceptre C248B 24 Inches Curved Gaming LED Monitor Review

The first thing you will notice about the Sceptre C248B gaming monitor is its curved screen. For a gaming monitor that is in the $200 region, we don’t expect to get all the premium features, but this Sceptre C248B monitor offers us just enough.

I used this gaming monitor for a minimum of two weeks before writing this review, and for its price, it’s just great. It sports 144Hz and 1080p. I noticed that the response time is quick enough to not show any significant difference if you have been using a TV with 1ms response time.

I noticed a faint line halfway across the screen. You wouldn’t notice it unless you are on a gray background. I also noticed that many pictures and images have a faint edge around, and these two, in my view are defects. I want to believe that this is found only on the monitor that was sent to me.

This isn’t the first time am using a Sceptre monitor, and the company sure has a good history when it comes to computer screens. I have used their monitors before, so durability is something I can vouch for.

The screws required to mount the base of this monitor are provided and I found them too easy to assemble. The panel was wrapped and the screen comes with a screen protector.

This screen was designed mainly for gaming, and it performed just well throughout the test. I connected my gaming laptop to this gaming monitor using an HDMI cord, and I was able to achieve close to 144Hz after lowering my in-game settings because the GPU reached its limit. Overall, this gaming monitor is great for its price.

Sceptre C305W-2560UN 30 inches Super Curved Ultrawide Review

I loved that this gaming monitor sports a curved screen and it’s ultra-wide. You get a thin frame, so the 30 inches looks like many 27 inches ultra-wide monitors. The monitor comes with a light strip on the back, if you’d like to turn it off, you can do that from the monitor settings.

Setting up was a hassle especially if you’re not tech-savvy. It doesn’t come out of the box with an HDMI cord and adapter, so you’d need to buy one to connect it to your laptop or gaming console. Opening multiple windows are supported on this monitor, so apart from gaming, it’s perfect for work-from-home professionals.

The one thing I didn’t like about the Sceptre C305W-2560UN is the speakers. The speakers are incredibly low DB, so low that most phone speakers can easily outwit it.

I also had issues with the quality of the pictures on some games. Overall, if you need a powerful gaming monitor on a budget, the Sceptre C305W-2560UN is one amazingly cheap gaming monitor for PS4.

AOC G2590FX 25 inches Frameless Review

The AOC G2590FX Gaming Monitor is probably one of the best gaming monitors you will find in this price range. For gaming, the monitor is amazing. When I plugged it in, the NVIDIA experience popup showed almost immediately, and you get a “G-Sync compatible monitor plugged in” notification.

Playing Fallout76, DayZ, and Borderlands 2 on the gaming monitor was so cool. When paired with RTX 2070, the games look very real. The monitor came with an HDMI cable, but we didn’t see the DP (display port) cable, so you might have to invest some extra cash in getting a display port cable.

You also get 144Hz and 60fps that help you get an even more comfortable gameplay experience. You will notice that your in-game movements and aiming are more precise and smooth. After using this monitor for like a month, I noticed visible improvements on the aim and movement.

So outside the facts that this PC comes with a 144Hz FreeSync, adjustable stand, it looks premium, a good array of ports to choose from, and its compatibility with laptops at 144Hz, I didn’t like the fact that the screen is too bright and the colors looked completely washed out even before calibration.

Overall, after color calibration, considering that you get G-Sync, and at this price, the AOC G2590FX Gaming Monitor is an amazing addition to your gaming setup.

Sceptre C275B-144RR 27 Inches Curved Gaming LED Monitor Review

The Sceptre C275B-144RR is an interesting addition to this list. Gaming was pretty fast, and the fact that it comes with built-in speakers, delivering office-level audio quality was something I loved about the Sceptre C275B-144RR gaming monitor.

The picture quality was good, I loved that it comes with 144Hz refresh rate, and the metal stand was nicely built. For gaming, I tested this monitor with PUBG on Xbox, and I think it helped improve the gameplay experience, with a response time that saw considerable improvement. Around 1ms response time.

The one thing I did notice about the monitor I was sent was that it had a stuck pixel. That is something I have noticed with monitors in this range.

Sceptre E248B-FPT168 IPS 24 inches Review

The Sceptre E248B-FPT168 is one of the latest gaming monitors from Sceptre, and it sure sports some of the best features we have found on any gaming monitor in its range. It’s the latest cheap gaming monitor for PS4 on this list.

Off the bat, I’d like to put it out there that this is a 144Hz 1ms 1080p gaming laptop under $200. It didn’t come with any dead pixels, and that’s something I have not found on many gaming monitors.

The menu is clean, and it functions correctly. The display is very bright, but you have the option to control the brightness to fit your gaming setup. If you’re gaming in a dark room, I will recommend that you set the blue light to 30% so as not to cause eye irritations. I loved the graphics and everything about the visuals. When gaming, the screen tries by amplifying every detail. I played CSGO and Valorant with this gaming monitor, and I loved the experience.

You will be able to push the monitor to give you up to 165Hz using a display port and having it plugged into your graphics card, not your motherboard. It comes with only a display port cord out of the box, so you might have to invest in an HDMI cable.

You will be getting a small booklet, screwdriver, 4 screws, rubber screw covers out-of-the-box. In my opinion, the Sceptre E248B-FPT168 setup is completely beginner-friendly.

You would be getting a 24 inches monitor, though, so if you have become used to playing games on 27+ inches gaming monitors, then you would notice a remarkable difference in the look and feel.

So those are our cheap gaming monitors for PS4, PS5, and Xbox. It sure will become a stunning addition to your gaming setup.
