Samsung is known for bringing about radical improvements and changes in the world of Android and the Samsung Galaxy Note lineup is the prime example of that. When the first-ever Galaxy Note was unveiled, it was way ahead of its time. Though styluses were not a new thing back then too, the original Note gave the stylus an altogether different meaning.

The company has recently released an infographic depicting the history and the evolution of the Samsung Galaxy Note lineup and it was only fitting that we gave the respect it deserves by mentioning it on our website.

The journey of the Samsung Galaxy Note lineup: #Noteworthy

It all started with the original Samsung Galaxy Note. The device featured a 5.3-inch WXGA Super AMOLED display giving out a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and an amazing 285ppi pixel density. Back then, having a screen this big used to be a rare sight and it is commendable that Samsung could pull this one off. There was a substantial 2,500 mAh battery which was removable, a solid 8MP rear camera and a 2MP selfie snapper. We got a pressure sensitive S-Pen which brought about a new dimension in the world of Android.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 took things further with a slightly bigger 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display and a larger 3,100 mAh battery. The most notable feature of them all was the support for air gestures with the S-Pen.

As if Samsung was not content with the already big screen size, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 featured an even bigger and better display. This time, we got a 5.7-inch FHD Super AMOLED display giving out a resolution of 1820×1080 pixels and a 388ppi pixel density. Once again, the company went way ahead of its time and the display which the Galaxy Note 3 sported could even compete with the displays of today’s smartphones.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 took things further in the battery department as it featured a big 3,330 mAh battery which was capable of fast charging. It was also the first device by the company to sport a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button, a trend a lot of the smartphones by the company still follow in 2018. The Note 4 also featured a heart-rate sensor. Back in those days, Samsung was infamous for its love for the plastic it used for all the devices. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 finally broke this trend and featured a solid metal chassis.

Talking about radical changes, Samsung then came up with the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge which happened to be the company’s first-ever smartphone with a curved display along the edges and, needless to say, the world of Android just went nuts. The device set the benchmark for all the curved screen smartphones and deserves a great share of respect.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 finally saw the company ditching the metal/faux leather rear which used to look cheap, at the most. The device featured an all-glass body wrapped around on a solid metal chassis. The company introduced a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display which can still be used as a benchmark for beautiful displays. The device also featured the always-on screen off memo which would enable you to scribble anything on the screen even when turned off.

Samsung decided to skip the number 6 with its Note lineup to make sure that it does not coincide with its S lineup for long. Sadly, the company saw its worst piece of luck after that as the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was not a success by any means. If you are a fan of Android, you must already have known as to what happened with the Note 7 devices. If not, kindly search the internet. Whatever happened with the device was rather unfortunate, but we cannot take away the fact that the Galaxy Note 7 was the first device by Samsung to sport an Iris scanner.

And, then came the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 which again changed everything. It was the first Note device to sport an Infinity display, a dual rear camera setup, and support for Samsung DeX. As a matter of fact, the current Note flagship, the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 shares a lot of aesthetics and features with the Note 8.

And now, the Note train has finally arrived at the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 station. The Galaxy Note 9 is, hands down, the best Android smartphone launched in the year 2018 and has everything to be called a flagship. The Bluetooth-connected S Pen with a remote feature, a dual rear camera setup with variable aperture, a massive 4,000 mAh battery, 6GB of RAM, up to 512GB of internal storage, and whatnot. The Note 9 has it all.
