Gaming is not something new to the world of Android. That said, 2018 is the year of companies coming up with new innovations and the others following suit. We recently saw a bunch of dedicated gaming Android smartphones. Now, Huawei has decided to come up with a gaming smartwatch. The company has recently got the patent for the same which has been revealed by a report from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

The patent allows the Huawei smartwatch to be used via the watch strap. One would be able to play games on it using various gestures like steering a car or changing directions in a shooting game.

As seen in the image, if you are playing a racing game on the watch, you would be able to accelerate/break your vehicle by tapping the top of the watch strap. Similarly, you can steer by swiping the bottom part of the strap left/right. The gestures can be swapped with one another as well.



The crown of the Huawei gaming smartwatch would also allow for performing various gestures on the watch.

This ain’t it. There is so much a person would be able to do.

If you have not put on the watch, you can use it as a dedicated gaming device. The device has support for movement gestures. Moreover, the watch strap would double as a virtual keyboard in case you want to type a message. You can also take a selfie using the viewfinder on the Huawei gaming smartwatch.


Now, let’s come to the practicality of the watch. The Huawei gaming smartwatch looks like a revolutionary concept on paper. That said, would it be as practical as it appears to be? Typing on a smartwatch is a big hassle in itself, let alone play games on it. The small screen size would be a big obstacle when it comes to providing an immersive gaming experience. The same could be said about the speakers of the device. And, if one has to open the smartwatch and then play games on it, one can do the same on a smartphone as well right? It’s not like this smartwatch is going to be a budget-friendly timepiece by any means.
