Google might be preparing its first Android 15 beta release and will soon be unveiling the wraps of the Pixel 8a, which is expected to be launched soon. However, things have gotten quite interesting as the next series of the Pixel smartphone from Google has been leaked.

As revealed by the very popular leakster Steve Hemmerstoffer aka @OnLeaks on X (Twitter) Google is planning to release three variants of the Google Pixel 9 series.

Google seems to be planning something in terms of features and price points by bringing out three variants of the Pixel 9. According to OnLeaks and 91mobiles who revealed, the renders for the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro back in January, have now revealed that a Pixel 9 Pro XL is slated to join the Pixel 9 lineup. The XL moniker was last used for the Pixel 4 XL.

With the Pixel 9 Pro XL being the top-of-the-line Pixel, the base Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro will be coming with smaller displays to accommodate a bigger and larger screen for the Pixel 9 Pro XL. As of now, there are renders of the Pixel 9 as well as a 360-degree overview video of the base Pixel 9.

In terms of design, there is a dual camera setup on the Pixel 9 as compared to the triple camera setup for the Pixel 9 Pro and the 9 Pro XL. The Pixel 9 will come with a 6.03-inch flat-screen display with a punch-hole camera in the center. The dimensions of the Pixel 9 measures 152.8 × 71.9 × 8.5 mm.

One noticeable change for the Pixel 9 series is the camera bump at the rear. Instead of the solid block that we have seen with the recent Pixel smartphones, the camera bump will now be a curved one at the rear.

Powering the Pixel 9 series will be Google’s Tensor G4 SoC. We should also be expecting new AI features with Android 15 out of the box, as well as support for satellite calling and messaging. Looking at how Google seems to be taking curved body design for the Pixel 9 series, we can expect this to be the standard design for Pixels that will be launched in the coming years. 

Color-wise, according to the leaks, expect light blue and black color options for the Pixel 9 lineup. We might also get to see special Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL-only color options. Pricing-wise, expect the Pixel 9 Pro and the 9 Pro XL to be upwards of $1200.

While it is quite early to assume 100% of the Pixel 9 series, we can expect more leaks and details about the upcoming Pixel 9 series in the coming months. The Pixel 9 series will be slated for a release in September or early October-either during or after the Android 15 public stable release.
