Android 14 Beta 5.3 comes with bug fixes for Pixel Phones

Google has released the third incremental Beta of Android 14 Beta 5. And like the other two small beta updates, this one too focuses on bug fixes. With the new minor beta, Android 14 moves to a more stable side.

Google started testing Android 14 in February and after two developer previews, Android 14 was released in public beta in April. And since then Google released five public betas of Android 14. While announcing the fifth Android 14 beta, Google also mentioned that it will be the final beta. But it seems like the fifth beta will be running more than expected.

After a long wait it was speculated that stable Android 14 would finally be released in September. But according to the latest rumors, Android 14 has been delayed to October. And the arrival of the new incremental Android 14 beta 5.3 gives some credence to the rumor.

The Android 14 Beta 5.3 comes with build number UPB5.230623.009 and it comes with August security patch which is same as the last beta. Since this is a minor incremental beta for bug fixes, it weighs less.

OnePlus already announced that Android 14 based OxygenOS 14 for its flagship phones will be released on September 25. But if Android 14 gets delayed to October, it’s likely that the update for OnePlus will be delayed as well.

If you joined the Android 14 public beta on your eligible Pixel phone, you will receive the third incremental beta of Android 14 beta 5 over the air. If you are still on Android 13, you don’t need to join the beta program as the official version should be available within a month.

You can also manually sideload the Android 14 beta on your Pixel phone using the OTA builds for manual installation from this page.

Before updating your phone, make sure to take a backup of important data and also charge your phone to at least 50%.
