Over the years, our dependence on smartphones has grown significantly, as virtually every aspect of our lives has gone digital, from work and communication with family and friends to entertainment and various other activities. Consequently, there are frequent instances when we need to capture content from our device screens, whether it’s to share with others, for work-related purposes, or any other reason. And here comes the role of taking screenshots.

We have shared how to capture screenshots for many devices, and today I will share how to take screenshot on Galaxy Z Flip 5. This guide will come in handy almost daily as there is always some content that is worth sharing or saving for later.

Now you know the importance of screenshot, and what I will be sharing in this guide, so let’s jump into the guide.

How to Take a Screenshot on Galaxy Z Flip 5

There’s more than one way to take a screenshot on the Galaxy Z Flip 5. You can also take a long scrolling screenshot, you’ll find the method for that at the end. Let’s start with the easiest method.

Take Screenshot using Keys

Most of the Android phones have the support for capturing screens using physical buttons. And on most devices the button combination is the same which means if you switch to a new phone, you can always try the combination you were using in your last phone. Here is the process for Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Step 1: Open the screen that you want to capture on your Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Step 2: Now press Volume Down and Power button together.

Step 3: This will capture the screen and you can see the preview at the corner.

Step 4: There will also be a toolbar with tools that you can use to modify the screenshot.

The screenshot output will be available in the Screenshot folder or you can see it from Gallery.

Take Screenshot using Gestures

Gestures are one of the important parts of smartphones and other devices as well. And in the last few years gestures have improved a lot. And guess what you can also use gestures on Samsung phones to take a screenshot, but it is not as simple as what other OEMs offer. Here is the gesture shortcut for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Step 1: On your Galaxy Z Flip 5, open Settings.

Step 2: Now under settings, go to Advanced features > Motions and Gestures.

Step 3: Here look for Palm swipe to capture and make sure to enable it.

Step 4: Go back to the page that you want to capture on your clamshell.

Step 5: Now swipe the edge of your hand across the screen, for example, extreme left to right.

Step 6: This will capture the screenshot and the preview with editing tools will be available at the bottom.

This isn’t the most convenient gesture for screenshot, but it is the only gesture available by default on Samsung phones. If you want to get a more convenient gesture for screenshot like three finger swipe down, double tap on the back, then you need to use Good Lock modules or some other third party apps.

Take Screenshot from Quick Settings

This is also an easy method just like shortcut keys. You can quickly capture the screen with this method. Screenshot option may not be available in Settings by default. So in that case you need to add a screenshot icon to a much easier location.

Swipe down two times to open Quick Settings to full display. Swipe from right to left until the end. And then tap the + icon, and now a few more icons will appear. Drag and drop the Screenshot icon to Quick Settings. Now drag and drop the screenshot icon again to the first page of quick settings, in fact place it on the first line next to WiFi and network icon so you don’t need to pull two times to access the screenshot icon. Once you have done this, follow these methods.

Step 1: Go to the page that you want to capture.

Step 2: Swipe down to open Quick Settings.

Step 3: Now tap the Screenshot icon in the quick settings and it will capture the screenshot of the page.

Step 4: And then you can check the screenshot in the preview or customize it with available tools.

Take Screenshot using Assistant menu

There is an Assistant menu which is a set of tools which is accessible with only a couple of touch interactions. It is off by default, but you can enable it if you don’t mind a small floating icon.

Step 1: Open Settings on your Galaxy Z Flip 5.

Step 2: Navigate to Accessibility > Interaction and Dexterity > Assistant Menu.

Step 3: Here enable the Assistant menu by turning the toggle to On.

Step 4: You can change the tools that are available in the floating button from select Assistant Menu items.

Step 5: Now go to the page you want to capture in the screenshot.

Step 6: Tap the floating assistant button and tap the Screenshot icon which will take a screenshot.

You can follow the method that you find easy. Now if you want to take a long screenshot the next method is for you.

How to Take a Long Screenshot on Galaxy Z Flip 5

Long screenshot is also known as a scrolling screenshot which captures content that is not visible on the screen. For example you are browsing and found a useful webpage but its content is large that can’t fit in one screen. So it’s a combination of multiple screenshots but you don’t need to take a screenshot multiple times.

Note: Not all apps support scrolling screenshot but most apps do.

Step 1: Go to the app or webpage that you want to capture in a long screenshot.

Step 2: Take a simple screenshot using any of the above mentioned steps.

Step 3: Once you take the screenshot, you will see some tools at the bottom, you need to tap the two down arrows. It will capture the next screen.

Step 4: Tap double arrows again and it will capture more data. You need to tap it until all required content on the page is captured.

Step 5: Wait for the tool to disappear and you will find the long screenshot in the Gallery and Screenshot folder in files.

Alternatively you can also scroll through content while recording your screen but this will save the file in the mp4 or other video format. So this is how you can capture scrolling screenshot in Galaxy Z Flip 5.
