The Gate was opened in 1979 in Notting Hill. The smallest “off-West End” theatre in London, the Gate produces work in-house in its 75-seat, transformable space. Some of the actors and practitioners to have worked at the Gate include Sir Robert Stephens, Stephen Daldry, Jude Law, Kelly Hunter, Rachel Weisz, Alex Kingston, Kathy Burke, Sam Shepherd, Sir Peter Hall, Sarah Kane, Katie Mitchell, Nancy Meckler, Mick Gordon, Tobias Menzies, and Ian Rickson.

One World Rental was hired to integrate and lead the video side of the event.

The Gate Theatre Gala, emcee’d by Vikki Stone, and with special performances curated by Artistic Director Ellen has a goal to raise funds for the theatre itself. A very special dinner with live music, dance and comedy in the stunning background of St Paul Church in Hammersmith.

AV SOLUTION

The site was already fitted with 4x 49” and 4x 24” Tv screens mounted on truss supplemented by 5x 75” Samsung 4K Led screens provided by One World Rental.

4 different pieces of content were provided to be shown during the evening:

• A 5 minute presentation video by Gate Theatre
• A silent auction video on loop
• A live controlled auction
• A holding slide for the live shows

Our Videotech desk equipment:

• 3x High performance Laptops for AV
• 1x High End Matrix AV Seamless video switcher + Preview Screen
• 1x 8 output Video Splitter

All the screens had been cabled with CAT6 plugged in HDMI receivers at the back of each, we decided to assign a different type of content to each laptop to make our life easier, and set up the switching on a smooth fade in/out mode on our Switcher

Coordinated with the light tech we were able to dim the brightness of the screens down during the show to assure an harmonious and homogenic atmosphere change in between the perfomances guarantee a flawless and enjoyable experience to the attendants.
