MediaTek has just announced the 5G modem for smartphones in China. Qualcomm just announced the first chipset to support 5G networks with SD855 and now we have the Mediatek announcing the 5G multi-mode integrated modem with MediaTek Helio M70.

The new MediaTek Helio M70 does support the new 5G NR which delivers speeds up to 5Gbps. The new MediaTek Helio M70 also comes with backward compatibility support like 4G, 3G, and 2G.

Further, the new MediaTek Helio M70 will also support the sub-6GHz bands and high power terminals (HPUE) along with the millimeter wave band. The new MediaTek Helio M70 will be available to OEM’s by early 2019.
