Apple has made the latest iOS 12 developer beta 8 available for iPhone and iPad users after pulling the previous iOS 12 developer beta 7 earlier in the week.
The previous edition of the beta was withdrawn from public release after several performance issues were found. Many of the early adopters of the seventh beta saw issues when launching apps including long delays between tapping an app icon and the app opening.

Group Facetime delayed
iPhone users reported that the delay itself disappeared between five and ten minutes of using the phone but it was still considered serious enough by Apple to pull the entire update until a fix was available. Other users had been reporting other random freezes, crashes and other unexplained continuous delays on their devices.
Also one of the headline features of the new OS, a 32 person simultaneous Group FaceTime was also withdrawn ahead of general release. Apple says it will be ready later this year.
There are several important changes coming to the iPhone and iPad with iOS 12 with performance improvements for older devices, easier sharing and search within Photos; greater Siri access for third-party apps and Siri shortcuts based on previous useage and Workflow.
Updates Incoming
There are updates coming to Apple News, Apple Books, Voice Memos and Stocks; more management features including updates to Do Not Disturb and the ability to make more use of Screen Time parent controls and manageable notifications. One of the other trailed new features are a new personally based emoji system called Memoji based on the appearance of the user, which are due to launch in Messages.
Some of the other confirmed changes to take place will include a new redesign for Voice Memos for iPad and new splash screens for Voice Memos and Screen Time for all devices; a new single swipe gesture to clear all notifications and lots of other under the hood tweaks that will only become apparent when the update is out in the wild.
