New Apple Pay Cash Ad drops

Apple continues to push out its Apple Pay Cash ad campaign to encourage more people to sign up for the service.

The latest ad features two friends arguing about who is going to pay for their dinner. It tells viewers that they can “send and request cash with Apple Pay in Messages – use it to shop in stores, online and in apps”.

Just text them the money!

This is building on the story we featured when Apple Pay Cash was named as the top peer-to-peer (P2P) payments platform in their latest edition.

Apple Pay scored highest because of its strength in user and data security and by including additional authentication steps as standard over rival services such as Zelle, Venmo and Square Cash.

Growing sector

The P2P payment market is a growing sector, an estimated 79m Americans will use P2P services this year alone, an increase of 24% according to marketing company eMarketer.

This is another sign that Apple are taking the market very seriously and will continue to do so, putting customers security first. Apple Pay Cash limits the information it collects and shares on users and their transactions. It doesn’t store credit card or debit card numbers and states in the terms and conditions that it doesn’t sell users’ personal information to third parties.

An Apple spokesperson told Consumer Reports that “Apple Pay Cash is unique from an ease of use, privacy, and security standpoint, as Apple Pay Cash functions seamlessly through hardware, software, and the service all combined”.
