Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro launched with Snapdragon 8s Gen 3

Today, Xiaomi launched a new flagship phone in the Chinese market, the Civi 4 Pro. The highlight of this device is its chipset, as it is the world’s first smartphone powered by the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SOC. It is worth mentioning that this is the first “Pro” phone under the “Civi” lineup, as the Civi series has always included mid-range phones. The “Civi” series is also known for its design, and the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro is no exception.

The camera module design is identical to the Xiaomi Civi 3, with the exception of the placement of the LED flash. The phone comes with a dual-tone design on the rear (except for the Black color) and four color options. The Green color is the most unique-looking one, with a vegan leather finish on the rear. The phone has a metal frame, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, an IR blaster, and an under-display fingerprint scanner.

On the front, the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro features a pill-shaped cutout for the dual selfie cameras, which we also had on the Xiaomi Civi 3. The phone has a micro-curved display like the Xiaomi 14 series. This is a 6.55-inch TCL C8 OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 3000 nits peak brightness, 12-bit color depth, and 2160Hz PWM dimming. The display supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The panel is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Unlike the Xiaomi 14 series, this is not an LTPO panel.

Under the hood, the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro has the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. This flagship SOC was announced recently, and it sits between the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 & the 8 Gen 3 in terms of performance. This is a significant upgrade compared to the Dimensity 8200-ULTRA in the Civi 3. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is built on the TSMC’s 4nm process and, compared to the Dimensity 8200-ULTRA, it offers 66% better CPU and 96% better GPU performance. The AI performance is improved by 300%. The phone comes with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

The phone has a 4,700mAh battery and supports 67W fast wired charging. The phone does not support wireless charging.

Finally, let’s talk about the cameras. Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro has three cameras on the rear. The primary camera has a 1/1.55” 50MP Light Fusion 800 sensor with an f/1.63 lens and OIS. The ultrawide camera has a 12MP sensor with a 120-degree lens. The third camera has a f/1.98 telephoto lens with a 50MP sensor and 2x optical zoom. The rear camera can shoot 4K videos at up to 60fps.

There are two cameras for selfies —a 32MP Samsung GD2 sensor with a 78-degree lens and a 32MP Samsung GD2 sensor with a 100-degree lens. The selfie cameras support 4K video recording up to 30fps. This is the first phone in the “Civi” series with LEICA optics, so the camera software comes with some LEICA add-ons.

The phone also comes with “Master Portrait” mode, which we saw in the Xiaomi 14 Ultra.

Finally, the phone runs on HyperOS out of the box.

The standard Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro comes in four colors, and here is the pricing –

  • 12GB + 256GB – ¥2999 (~$417)
  • 12GB + 512GB – ¥3299 (~$458)
  • 16GB + 512GB – ¥3599 (~$499)
