Oppo Find N3 goes official with Hasselblad camera

Tags: camera phone oppo

In December last year, Oppo Find N2 was launched in China, the company’s second-generation foldable Phone with an improved hinge design and a Hasselblad Camera. Today, the brand launched the successor, the Oppo Find N3.

Oppo has not launched any of its Foldable phones (except the Flip phones) outside the Chinese market, but that might change with the N3. The OnePlus Open is a rebranded Find N3 launching in the global market today.

Design-wise, the main highlight is the camera module. The phone has a huge circular camera module on the back featuring three sensors and the Hasselblad branding. The LED flash is placed outside this camera module. The phone is slightly heavier than the predecessor at 239g (245g for the leather version) but is slimmer at 5.8mm (unfolded). The hinge is now more durable as Oppo claims up to a million open and close operations.

There are some things the phone still misses out on. The first is the water resistance, something the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Huawei Mate X5 have. The phone does not have wireless charging support.

Under the hood, Oppo Find N3 has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, paired with 12GB or 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB or 1TB UFS 4.0 storage. The battery is 4,805mAh, and the phone supports 67W fast charging.

Speaking of the cameras, the Oppo Find N3 has a triple camera setup on the rear. The primary camera has a 48MP 1/1.43″ Sony LYT808 sensor with an f/1.7 lens and OIS. The second camera takes ultrawide shots and features a 48MP sensor with autofocus. The third camera is for zoom shots and has a 64MP sensor with OIS and a periscope lens, offering 3x optical zoom.

For selfies, there is a 32MP sensor for the cover display and a 20MP sensor for the folding display. The rear and front cameras can shoot 4K videos (up to 30fps on the front and 60fps on the rear).

As for the displays, the cover display is a 6.31-inch OLED with 2800 nits peak brightness, 10-120Hz refresh rate, and a 2484 × 1116 pixels resolution. The folding display is a 7.82-inch OLED with a 1-120Hz refresh rate, 2800 nits peak brightness, and a 2440 × 2268 pixels resolution.

The phone runs on ColorOS 13.2, and there are some new multi-tasking features, such as opening three windows at once.

The phone comes in four colors – Red, Black, Gold, and Green.

The 12GB + 512GB variant is priced at ¥9999 (~$1366) and the 16GB + 1TB variant at ¥12999 (~$1776).
