In September 2021, Realme launched its first Android tablet in the Indian market, the Realme Pad. It had a 10.4-inch IPS LCD panel, a Helio G80 chipset, and a 7,100mAh battery. Later in April 2022, the Realme Pad Mini was launched in India, which, as the name suggests, was a more affordable version of the Realme Pad. The “Mini” swapped the Helio G80 for the UNISOC T616 and had a smaller display and battery.

In July 2022, Realme launched its third Android tablet, the Realme Pad X. It was more expensive than the Realme Pad and featured a Snapdragon 695 5G SOC with an 8,340mAh battery.

The brand is set to launch its fourth Android tablet, the Realme Pad 2. As the name suggests, it is the successor to the Realme Pad launched in 2021.

While the company is yet to announce the launch in India, the page is already live on Flipkart, revealing the launch date and a couple of specifications. Realme Pad 2 is launching in India on July 19, a few days from today.

As we can see, the Realme Pad 2 has a new rear design. The back has a two-tone look and a circular camera module. The tablet will be offered in at least two colors – Black & Green. There is a Quad speaker setup but no 3.5mm headphone jack, which the Realme Pad had.

The display is an 11.5-inch 10-bit LCD, and the bezels are smaller than the Realme Pad, resulting in an 85.2% screen-to-body ratio. This is a high-refresh-rate display with up to 120Hz refresh rate. This makes it the first Realme tablet featuring a high refresh-rate panel since all the tablets launched had a 60Hz display.

Don’t get confused by the mention of “2K” in the images above because, unlike smartphones, 2K here does not mean Quad-HD+. Instead, it refers to a 1200×2000 pixels resolution on tablets. The brightness is 450 nits.

Like the Realme Pad X, the Realme Pad 2 has the “O1 Ultra Vision Engine” to optimize the colors and enhance the image quality. Other display features include Hardware-level blue light protection, 10-bit color depth, and smart adaptive refresh rate (40Hz/60Hz/120Hz).

There is no information on the rest of the specifications, but some rumors suggest a MediaTek Helio G99 SOC under the hood.

The tablet will go on sale on July 26.
