HOW TO LOGIN TO THREADS?

Well, it is worth mentioning that at this point, Threads is only available as a mobile application for both Android & iOS. So, you cannot do a Threads.net Login via their website.

But, what many people may not know is that you can still visit someone’s profile on the web. For that, you need to know the username, which should be the same as their Instagram username. And once you have that, you need to put that username behind “https://www.threads.net/” in the browser, and that’s it.

You can control that on Twitter by blocking specific words such that tweets containing those words are automatically hidden from your Twitter feed.

Well, Threads offers the same feature, so you can specify what words should be hidden, and this will ensure that you won’t see the posts containing those words. Not just posts, but if you get a reply containing any such term, then that will also be hidden.

Another thing you can control is who can mention you on Threads because you won’t want random people mentioning you. For that, you can control whether no one can mention you or only those who you are following or everyone.

WHAT IS ACTIVITYPUB AND HOW IT RELATES TO THREADS?

Upon going through the Threads news, you might’ve encountered a term called “ActivityPub.” Even Meta has mentioned it in its official Threads announcement post. But what is ActivityPub, and how is it related to Threads?

Before we discuss that, it is essential to understand what W3C is or the “World Wide Web Consortium.” The W3C community develops standards and guidelines for the World Wide Web. The W3C was founded in 1994 by Tim Berners-Lee, who invented the World Wide Web. The standard and guidelines ensure consistency across the World Wide Web.

Returning to “ActivityPub,” it is a “decentralized social networking protocol.”It allows different social media platforms and online services to talk to each other and share information. It’s like a common language or set of rules that they all agree to follow.

Think of it as a big party where people from different countries unite. Each person speaks a different language and has their way of doing things. ActivityPub acts as a translator and organizer at the party. It helps everyone communicate and understand each other, regardless of their native language.

With ActivityPub, social media platforms can send messages and share updates. For example, if you post something on one platform, ActivityPub allows that post to be shared on other platforms.
