Motorola Razr 40 Ultra launched with a 3.6″ cover display

Let’s talk about the cover display first because it is the main USP of this phone. This is a 3.6-inch pOLED display with a 1066 x 1056 pixels resolution, 10-bit color output, HDR10+ support, up to 144Hz refresh rate, and 1100 nits peak brightness. Such a large display means you can do a lot without even opening the phone to use the main display. Motorola has partnered with some companies like Spotify to optimize the apps for this cover display so that they work seamlessly.

And this does not mean you can only run a few apps on this display. In fact, a setting lets you force an app to run on this cover display. Simply put, you can run any app on the cove display of Razr 40 Ultra.

As for the design, Motorola Razr 40 Ultra has Gorilla Glass Victus on both the front and rear (Vegan leather in case of a Magenta color option). The frame is made of 7000-series aluminum. The weight is 188.5g (Black & Blue colors) and 184.5g (Magenta color). The phone is 6.99mm thick when unfolded and 15.1mm when folded.

There are stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support, triple microphones, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The inner display has a 6.9-inch LTPO pOLED panel with a 2640 x 1080 pixels resolution, 165Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color output, and 1400 nits peak brightness.

The hole punch cutout has a 32MP selfie camera supporting 4K 60fps video recording.

As for the other two cameras, there is a primary 12MP sensor with 1.4-micron pixels, OIS, and f/1.5 lens. The second camera is for ultrawide shots and has a 13MP sensor with 108-degree FOV. The primary camera can shoot up to 4K 60fps videos, whereas the ultrawide camera is limited to 4K 30fps recording.

The phone has Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. Finally, the battery is 3,800mAh, and the phone supports 30W wired + 5W wireless charging.

Motorola Razr 40 Ultra is priced at €1,199 ($999 in the US). The phone is named “Motorola Razr+” in the US.
