Google Pixel 8 & Pixel 8 Pro – Here’s our first look

UPDATE – OnLeaks has shared the renders of the Google Pixel 8 in collaboration with MySmartPrice.

As we can instantly notice, the Pixel 8 Pro has more curved corners this time, so it looks like Google is moving away from the boxy look we saw last year. This is not bad because while flat sides make a phone look more premium, phones with curved sides are more comfortable to hold.

The phone still has the “camera bar” on the rear, but there are some changes this time. First, the three cameras now sit inside a single cutout which was not the case last year, where the periscope camera had its separate cutout. Another change is the addition of a fourth sensor that is placed below the LED flash. It is not yet known what this sensor will be used for, but it could be similar to the LiDAR scanner on iPhones. Or this could be a dedicated macro sensor as well.

And well, those are pretty much all the design upgrades. The front of the phone has not changed much, so there is still a slightly curved display with a hole punch cutout in the center. Due to the phone’s more rounded edges, the display’s corners are also more rounded than last year.

The dimensions are 162.6×76.5×8.7mm, so while the length & width is the same, the phone is slimmer than the Pixel 7 Pro (8.9mm).

We do not know the Google Pixel 8 Pro specifications yet, but there are still months to go before the launch. Also, like last year, Google may give us the official first look months before the launch.
