Redmi Pad launched in India, starts at ₹12,999

Today, Redmi launched a budget Android tablet in the Indian market named the Redmi Pad. This is also the first android tablet from the brand. The price starts at ₹12,999, and for the price, this is an amazing value-for-money tablet. You are getting features such as a metal build, MediaTek Helio G99 SOC, a 90Hz display, Quad speakers, and more.

Redmi Pad comes in three colors – Mint Green, Graphite Grey, and Moonlight Silver. It has an all-metal build, a single rear camera with no LED flash, Quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, and no 3.5mm headphone jack.

There is a 10.61-inch LCD with a 2000 x 1200 pixels resolution and 10-bit color depth. The panel also supports up to 90Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, it has the MediaTek Helio G99 SOC, which is the most powerful chip under the “G” series by MediaTek. It is the same SOC that powers the recently launched Moto G72 in India. The battery size is 8,000mAh, and there is 18W fast charging support.

Both the front and rear cameras have an 8MP sensor. The front camera has a 105-degree FOV, and Redmi Pad comes with a “FocusFrame” feature that automatically adjusts the frame as per your movement and also uses the 105-degree FOV when there are multiple people in the frame.

The tablet runs on MIUI 13 for Pad which is based on Android 12. Some notable software features include Split screen, floating windows, Multi windows, etc. The tablet will get two major OS updates and security updates for the next three years.

  • 4GB + 64GB – ₹14,999
  • 6GB + 128GB – ₹16,999

It is worth mentioning that the 3GB variant comes in only one color – Graphite Gray. Also, the Mint Green color option is for the 6GB variant only. The sale starts tomorrow in the Indian market.
