Moto G22 launched for €169.99, comes with Helio G37 SOC

The Moto G22 is now official, and this is the latest entry-level phone from the brand under the “G” series. In the European market, this phone is priced at €169.99, which translates to well under $200. In the coming weeks, Motorola will launch this phone in the Middle East, Asia, India, and Latin America.

Design-wise there isn’t anything special here as this phone has a polycarbonate build. The camera module design is unique for a Motorola device, and it includes four camera sensors. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top, and a USB 2.0 Type-C port on the bottom.

There is a 6.5-inch LCD on the front with a hole punch in the center and a 720p resolution. The panel features a 90Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, Moto G22 has the MediaTek Helio G37 SOC, which is a minor upgrade over the Helio G35. There is an octa-core CPU with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.3GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. There is 4GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB internal storage that is also expandable via a microSD card up to 1TB.

The Quad-camera array on the rear includes a primary 50MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture lens, a secondary 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP macro, and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, there is a 16MP camera.

Finally, Moto G22 runs on Android 12 out of the box and has a 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W charging. In the box, however, it comes with a 10W adapter. The color options are named Cosmic Black, Iceberg Blue, and Pearl White. The price starts at €169.99.
