Ultrawide monitors are pretty attractive options as their size and aspect ratio delivers plenty of qualities that are desirable for a variety of users, however, they can get quite costly. Don’t worry though, because there are tons of choices in the budget range for these monitors as well, for example the Samsung SJ55W coming in with a fairly large screen with the WQHD resolution, good refresh rate, solid amounts of black, nice design, AMD FreeSync, plenty of connectivity ports, and tons of other features that are perfect for multi-tasking.

The Samsung SJ55W has a pretty interesting design that will suit any room or desk, it’s a combination of dark gunmetal grey in its bezels and stand, and black on its rear panel. The bezels of the device are thicker than I expected but they are not noticeable and are not an eyesore, on top of that the monitor is quite thin when you are looking from the side delivering a pretty aesthetic look. The base of the device has a wide V shape that looks equally good and fits in with the design, and it can comfortably hold this beast stable. In terms of build quality, we did not expect anything less than excellent, and Samsung delivered like always.

The back panel is really clean and tidy, and on it, you will find the stand which is not the most adjustable but gets the job done. Apart from that, you can also find the connectivity ports including one HDMI 2.0, an HDMI 1.4, one DisplayPort 1.2 and a headphone jack, which is more than enough at the price point.

The Samsung SJ55W sports a 34-inch 3440×1440 WQHD resolution VA panel with a static contrast ratio of 3000:1, a refresh rate of 75Hz, a peak brightness of 300 nits, great viewing angles thanks to its VA nature, 4ms response time and AMD FreeSync. This makes it a very feature-rich and capable monitor that is capable of running plenty of tasks like a breeze, for example, gaming will be perfect thanks to its contrast, refresh rate, and AMD FreeSync.

On top of all this, the Samsung SJ55W has a split-screen feature, that makes it a perfect monitor for productivity and multi-tasking, so you can get a lot done in little time. It also performed its duties exceptionally in every task and I have no complaints about it.

It has a curved back panel that attaches to the stand that offers tilt adjustability, on the bottom bezel you will find the touch-sensitive controls that give good control to the device.

In terms of connectivity, this monitor has some attractive options, including a DisplayPort, HDMI, Dual-Link DVI inputs, and two audio ports, to complete the package. Most importantly, this device is equipped with a pair of 3-watt Bang & Olufsen ICEpower speakers that deliver an impressive performance all-around, which was surprising for a monitor.

The panel is LED backlit and managed to reproduce 100% of the sRGB colour gamut, with extreme accuracy making it a very capable device for photo and video editing.

The grayscale accuracy of this monitor was also tremendous, making productivity tasks a breeze, perfect for multi-taskers. With a bit of tweaking this monitor is a dream come true, but even without it, it is still pretty good.

As far as monitors and TVs go, LG is always on top of the pack with its amazing panels that are perfectly designed and deliver excellent features, most products in their lineup are pretty high-end devices, however, they have managed to offer us some great budget models. One of their most notable is the LG 29UM59-A, which is an ultrawide monitor with an amazing set of features, and it is essentially an entry-level gaming monitor, but thanks to its looks, performance, and features, it makes for a great office monitor that will leave you satisfied.

In terms of design and aesthetics, the LG 29UM59-A utilizes a very utilitarian body with simplistic lines that doesn’t crave attention, but it will fit right in with any design, and it would be the perfect one for your office. It has a slim body with thin bezels on the top and sides, but the bezel is slightly thicker on the bottom.

It has an all-black made of glossy plastic that attracts dust and fingerprints, so it would be wise to have a microfiber cloth to keep it in tip-top shape, and you should beware because the body picks up hairline scratches quite easily. The base is excellently designed with its bow shape, delivering exceptional stability, but not a lot of adjustability apart from tilting. However, there are 75×75 VESA mounting holes if you wish for an aftermarket upgrade, and you also get a multi-directional joystick for OSD navigation that was excellently convenient.

In terms of connectivity this monitor delivers a DisplayPort 1.2 port, and two HDMI 1.4 ports, which may not be a lot, but for the price it is adequate. The LG 29UM59-A is equipped with a pair of 5watt speakers that are a good substitution if you lack any kind of system, and on top of this, you have some sort of cable management that will keep your desk tidy and clean.

The LG 29UM59-A is fitted with a 29-inch 2560×1080 resolution In-Plane Switching panel that delivers a 75Hz refresh rate and a 5ms response time which makes it perfect for office use, PC and console gaming, and watching movies. I was actually impressed with the colour reproduction of the device which was better than I expected due to its price, and the grayscale was impressive as well, resulting in perfect text. The contrast was pretty good as well resulting in awesome blacks and pleasing visuals.

If you want an ultra-wide curved monitor in the budget range the options are pretty scarce, however, Acer has delivered a pretty attractive option that will deliver with the ED347CKR. This monitor delivers excellent functionality and performance in its large 34-inch ultra-wide curved screen that is excellently designed, has nice contrast, good colors, good refresh rate and plenty of nice features that will prove to be worthy.

First of all, it is worth noting that this monitor is one of the most attractive options in the market with its 1800R curve and its large size. The company has used glossy plastic on the bottom band on the screen, but on the top and sides, it has pretty slim bezels that complete the look of this device.

Moving on the stand and the base is not appropriate for this monitor, not due to size or stability, but due to its aesthetics, but it has VESA mount holes on the back so you can swap it for an aftermarket solution if you wish to. However, the stand provides plenty of adjustabilities so you can get the perfect angle, and it has some cable adjustment solution to keep the cables out of the way.

The back panel of this monitor is pretty attractive as well, with the Acer logo engraved in the top left-hand side and three lines adding some flair to it. It is worth mentioning that this monitor looks rather thick from the side due to its curved nature but it is nothing that will bother you. In terms of connectivity, this device is pretty rich, coming in with 5 USB 3.1 ports, a DisplayPort, one HDMI port, and a DVI input to complete the package. It has two 4Watt speakers for sound but they are not pretty capable.

The Acer ED347CKR is fitted with 34-inch UltraWide curved 3440×1440 resolution VA panel with LCD backlighting, with a maximum brightness of 300 nits and a dynamic contrast ratio of 100000000:1 with a refresh rate of 100Hz. Combined with the AMD FreeSync technology, this monitor is capable of pretty much anything you can think of, a great budget ultra-wide monitor.
