Loofah Body Scrubber Pad - Premium Exfoliation For Everyone

Tags: loofah

Do you like using a loofah to exfoliate and rejuvenate your skin? Try Best Loofah.

Did you know that a Loofah is actually a fruit (or some would say it's a vegetable)? It's a member of the cucumber family; and, if it is picked early, it can be eaten. If you leave it on the vine, it becomes hard and fibrous. After harvesting it, it is allowed to dry in the sun, and it then becomes what we use to scrub our skin in the shower. If you're into natural health and beauty, this is good news. What's more natural than something that grows on a vine in nature?

I recently had a chance to try Best Loofah at a discounted price in exchange for an honest review. As you can see in the photos above, one side is a terrycloth pad with a strap for your hand. The other is the fibrous loofah scrubbing side. I like the way this is constructed, because your hand is more comfortable placed on the soft pad than it would be on the scrubby side. I also feel the strap is a great idea because then your hand can stay flat as you scrub.

The first thing I thought of is my feet. My feet get and stay dry because I rarely wear shoes or even socks around the house. After a while, it's almost like they are screaming at me for a "drink". Even when I use lotion, it won't help if I don't exfoliate first. Not only that, but when I wash my feet I can't get them totally clean. The dirt stays stuck in the dry skin. Usually, I use an emery board to get the dry skin off, because nothing else has worked well. Until now. The loofah side of this product makes my feet tingle with that clean feeling of freshly opened pores and fresh skin. The first time I used it I felt the after effects for hours. This morning, I did it again and added coconut oil to my feet after scrubbing them. Ah. It feels great. Dirt? All gone. Yay!

One concern that many consumers may have is how to keep these from getting germ ridden. Kate Bratskeir, an editor at Huffpost Healthy Living states that drying your loofah properly is key to keeping it healthful. Every time you use it, it must be allowed to dry completely to keep it germ free. Otherwise, you could get a serious infection over time. Since the Best Loofah has a pad, I simply wring it out well and take it out of the bathroom to allow it to dry completely for the next day. If it ever starts to smell or turn colors, it's time to throw it out.

That's why I like the fact that there are two loofah pads included with this amazon purchase. I can use one now, and keep the other on hand for when the first one needs to be discarded.

There are a few things I think the company could do better. One is tell us where the loofah comes from. It states on the amazon website that it's all natural loofah material, but consumers like me would like to know more about exactly where the loofah is grown. I like to be sure I'm getting what I'm told I'm getting. The second thing is including information on maintenance of the pad. All products should come with information on how to clean and or maintain them. The consumer should not have to look that up on their own. Lastly, they should give an idea of how long the pad lasts. It states on amazon that it's "long-lasting", but it doesn't say how long. After I use the pads to completion, I'll try to update and let you know exactly how long each one of mine lasted.

Overall I like this product and can't wait to continue using it on my feet. My hope is that over time as I exfoliate them and add a moisturizer, that I'll be able to keep more beautiful feet.
