Earn money, save money and make difference! @textbookrentals more than just a textbook alternative!

I participated in the campaign on behalf of CampusBookRentals.com, I received a thank you gift for my participation. However, my experience and opinions are my own.
When I first made the decision to return to school I never dreamed that 5 years later I would still be in school working toward a doctrine. I really only thought I get the updated degree to bring me into compliance with my new home state, so that I could return to some semblance of Behavior Therapy.
Surprise! Still in school!
I’m sure I need not reiterate that I am racking up some nice sized bills. School is certainly not cheap…not even a little. I try to save where I can and now that my oldest son is headed to college next fall, the need to be cost efficient is something that I am becoming increasingly conscious of.
I just finished another round of books, it was painful, nearly $700 (just one of them was almost $500) painful …and yes, that was just one term of books.
Until I get through my last course and start on my dissertation, I can’t get many of my books at a Rental store because they are often customized, but in future planning, I’ve been looking at alternatives for my son who I know will be able to rent (it’s one of my top questions as we visit potential schools), I’ve found some decent rental sites, but so far none I like as well as I do CampusBookRentals.com. Aside from the money saving factor (which is obviously a huge element for us), I am attracted to CampusBookRentals.com for a couple of different reasons.
They offer 90% savings over a purchase copy and free shipping – both ways and they even let you highlight in your rental book. Plus they give you a postage paid envelope to send it back when you are done (saving me a shipping supply run and a trip to the post office is always a good thing).

The process seems easy enough:
  • Select your book/s
  • Select the length of time that you need for your rental period (how long you will need the book)
  • Log in to your account during the checkout process and ta-da, you’ve got books!
They have rental periods designed to meet the needs of full-time semester based students, as well as, quarter based classes. They even offer a 15 day grace period to return or extend your rental period.

Plus they will buy the books I’ve already bought or if I want to jump on board of their newly launched RentBack initiative, I can do that too. RentBack allows students to rent the textbooks they own - to other students... which is awesome because it makes them 2-4 times more money than buyback options! Isn't that awesome?! I’ve got a mountain of books that I could RentBack….I’m thinking this might be a great way to supplement the shoe fund. There are a lot of shoes waiting to find a home in my closet.
Clearly my incentive here is to save money and apparently I may even stand to make a little, but one thing that especially will draw me in is that I typically will choose on company over another if they have a social change commitment. Campus Book Rentals in partnership with Operation Smile, an international children's medical charity, is dedicated to supporting effective reconstructive surgery and related medical care for children born with facial deformities, such as, cleft lip and cleft palate.
This is significant given the data - A child is born nearly every 3 minutes with a cleft irregularity. Of those children, 1 out of every 10 will die before they enjoy their first birthday. Survivors may be left unable to eat, talk, or simply smile. Even if I were not a mother, I still know the joy of a child’s smile and the delight of their laughter, the thought of a child living without this basic right is beyond heartbreaking. The good news is that there are medical procedures for these children that would allow them to live happy and productive lives. The bad news is that as the parent of a special needs child, I know all too well that despite much medical innovation, these technologies are not readily available to those that cannot afford them. With every textbook rental made through Campus Book Rentals a donation is made toward the efforts Operation Smile….every book!
Obviously, if I'm going to spend my money, I'd rather put it into an operation that is committed to the greater good...so kudos to CampusBookRentals.com for their dedication to making children smile. They have my vote and will be getting my business.
If you’ve got a campus bound kid or are a back to schooler like me, Campus Book Rentals can not only save you some money, but your rental may lend to changing a life…..that is certainly worth a looksee.
Campus Book Rental has a Facebook page and is on Twitter too ;0)
