Ingredients

  • 1 cup cold butter cut into small cubes
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups cake flour*
  • 1 ½ cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • ¾ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups chocolate chips
  • 1 ½ cups walnuts, chopped

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 410 degrees F.

Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper and set aside.

Place the butter, sugar, and brown sugar into the bowl of a stand mixer or a large glass mixing bowl.

Mix on medium speed for 3-4 minutes until the butter mixture is creamy.

Add the eggs and vanilla extract and mix until creamy.

Place both flours, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt into a large glass mixing bowl and whisk until combined.

Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture slowly, then mix on medium until well combined.

Add the chocolate chips and walnuts to the dough and mix on low until combined.

Scoop out the dough with a cookie / ice cream scoop.

Roll the dough in your hands to form a ball.

Place the dough balls onto the baking sheet and lightly press down to flatten lightly.

Bake the cookies for 8-10 minutes.

Remove the cookies from the oven.

Place the cookies onto a cooling rack and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
