Melting Snowman Cookies are cute sugar cookies decorated to look like a melting snowman. The perfect treat to bake on a cold winter day!
Melting Snowman Cookies

Equipment Needed

- silicone baking mat
- small glass mixing bowl
- large glass mixing bowl
- electric mixer
- spatula
- #60 cookie scoop
- measuring cups
- measuring spoons
- plastic wrap
- cooling rack
Ingredients
Cookie Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup sweet cream butter (room temp)
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- ½ tsp almond extract
- 1 large egg
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- ½ cup granulated sugar
Frosting Ingredients
- 4 Tbsp sweet cream butter (room temp)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 6 Tbsp whole milk
Decorating Ingredients
- 1 package Wilton Snowman Cookie Ball Decorations
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees f.
Line a cookie sheet with a silicone baking mat.
Place the granulated sugar in a small bowl.
Cookie Instructions
Place the powdered sugar, butter, pure vanilla, almond, and egg into a mixing bowl.
Use an electric mixer to blend the ingredients together.
Use a rubber spatula to stir in the flour, baking soda, and cream of tartar, then roll it into a ball.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap.
Move the bowl to the refrigerator to chill for two hours.
After two hours have passed, remove the dough from the refrigerator.
Use a #60 size cookie scoop to scoop the dough into balls.
With your hands, roll each scoop of dough into one and a half dough balls.
Roll each dough ball in the bowl of white sugar.
Transfer the dough balls onto the prepared cookie sheet.
Bake at 375 degrees for 7-8 minutes.
Remove the cookies from the oven and move to a cooling rack.
Frosting Instructions
Place the melted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla and three tablespoons of milk into a small mixing bowl.
Use an electric mixer to mix all of the ingredients together.
If the frosting is too thick, add more milk, one tablespoon at a time.
If the frosting is too thin, add a teaspoon of powdered sugar to the bowl, one teaspoon at a time. (The frosting should spread over the cookie dripping on the sides of the cookies.)
Set the cookies aside to slightly harden.
Add the two black eyes and orange nose to the cookies.
Transfer the cookies to a serving platter.
Serve and enjoy!
