Marin Weekend Family Fun for May 20–21

  • It's cherry season! Head to the East Bay town of Brentwood to pick your own certified organic cherries at Dwelley Family Farms, 8:30 am–4 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Experience Jack London State Historic Park at the free Call of the Wild Weekend! Enjoy a plowing demonstration, family fun day, picnics, and more. Saturday, 10 am–1 pm and Sunday, 9 am–4 pm.
  • Katia & Co. presents Aladdin, with a cast of talented young actors, at Marin Center's Showcase Theater in San Rafael, Saturday & Sunday, various times.

Saturday, May 20

  • Practice your bird watching skills on a spring birding hike at China Camp State Park, Saturday, 8–10 am.
  • St. Anselm School's annual Festival of Fun has carnival rides, games, cake walk, jumpy houses, music, and more, Saturday, 11 am–7 pm.

  • Celebrate the creative, curious, and inventive spirit in all of us at the 5th annual Tinkerfest at Chabot Space & Science Center in Oakland, Saturday, 10 am–4 pm.
  • Learn about wildfire prevention and enjoy music, entertainment, and activities at Ember Stomp 2023 at Marin Center, Saturday, 11 am–5 pm.
  • Support Lagunitas Schools with an amazing afternoon of music, food, games, activities, and more at Valleyfest in San Geronimo, Saturday, 3–7 pm.
  • Join Ritter Center's pre-sleepout BBQ celebration, San Rafael Elks Club Lodge, Saturday, 5–7:30 pm.
  • Gather the family and your sleeping bags and have a campout in your backyard for Ritter Center's Under the Stars, a Sleepout to End Homelessness in Marin, 6 pm.

  • The 110th Mountain Play, Into the Woods, opens at Cushing Memorial Amphitheater on Mt. Tam; youth ages 4–25 are admitted free! Sunday, 2 pm.
  • Learn how to make delicious campfire cobbler in a Dutch oven at Stafford Lake Park in Novato, Sunday, 1–3 pm.
