    American Crown Circus sets up its big top at Northgate Mall in San Rafael, May 2–6.     Meet us at the Farmers' Market for a Mother's Day celebration (10:30 am–2 pm)! We will have tea cake decorating and lemonade making with mom. Also, Posey Planting and sweet memories with mom await in fron of the Poppy Store. Enjoy the best local and organic produce, flowers, pastured meats, seafood, organic cheeses, yogurt and milk, breads, baked goods, pasta, confections, olive oil, and brunch and lunch offerings!     Work with rangers to create your own piece of art to give to your mom on Mother's Day. This event is self-paced and encourages creativity in the beautiful outdoors.   • Tales of Raccoon Rescue Book Signing with Author Kama Einhorn

    Kama Einhorn is an Emmy-nominated writer. She has written over 40 children’s books, and was a creative lead at Sesame Street. Raccoon Rescue is based on the true story of four orphaned raccoons admitted into WildCare’s Wildlife Hospital. This fun event at WildCare will feature a book reading and signing by Kama, and a slideshow full of information on the stars of the story—the orphaned raccoons in care at WildCare!   • Annual Rose & Photography Show
    Bon Air Center, Greenbrae

    A beautiful, fragrant exhibit of more than 41 categories of expertly grown roses will be on display to the public. The public can enter roses and rose photography from 7–10 am. The show opens at 11 am with speakers, demonstrations and displays. American Rose Society certified judges will award honors to rose entries. Eleven awards are given for photography. Just in time for Mother’s Day, the family-friendly event features a children’s table where volunteers will assist kids of all ages in creating a beautiful bouquet for Mom at no cost. At 3 pm, after judging is complete, cut roses are available for purchase at $1 each, with 100% of the proceeds benefitting the Center for Domestic Peace. Event details

    Get out for a spring hike along the lower Montini Preserve Trail. Experience history, nature, and community lead by Park Interpretive Specialist “Ranger Dave”.
