Activated Charcoal Treatment Experiment (ACT)


AIM

To absorb organic materials such as phenolic or chloro or bromohydrocarbons.
Deals with sporadic discharges of mineral oils.


MATERIALS

Activated charcoal
2 beakers
Food colouring
Water
Spatula

PROCEDURE

Fill water into both beaker and label with beaker A and B.
Put a few drops of food colouring into both beaker.
Add about 2 spoon of activated charcoal into beaker A and stir until mixed.
Cover the beaker and let them about a day.

2 jar contains water and red colouring
After few hours

After a few days
