Everyone dreams of starting over but with kids it can be hard. We moved, taking very little with us to Japan, stayed for a year, and moved back home to Southern California again. Pre-kids, us grown-ups did a couple of short term moves to and from Florida too. We always try to prepare well to make smooth and comfortable transitions and I thought I'd share some of the things I learned in case any of you are starting over in a new city with kids or on your own.
