Even though I am a big Mets fan I rarely root against the Yankees. I like to go to a game at the stadium a few times each season. Today, the Yankees with Gerrit Cole as the starting pitcher opposed the Minnesota Twins.
The Yankees broke the game open by scoring 5 runs in the 5th inning that featured doubles by Giancarlo Stanton and the red hot Luke Voit. Bronx native Andrew Velasquez put the icing on the cake by hitting a home run in the 8th inning.

When we arrived home the game between the Mets and the Dodgers was in the 8th inning. We watched until the end of the game as the Mets lost 4-3 making it 8 losses in their last 9 games.
