MessyLearning For Preschool and Kindergarteners – Review

Do you want to build brain connections, self-confidence, and fine motor skills with your preschooler or kindergartner? If so I highly recommend checking out MessyLearning for Preschool and Kindergartners by PandaParents. This program is for ages 3 -6. Spend 30 minutes a day – 2 – 3 times per week reading and Learning with your child.

Now I don’t have any little ones any more in the house but I wanted to look over the program so that I could share it with all of you. My thoughts are if I did have a little on in the house, I would definitely be interested in using this. This program is really cute. You have a video to watch. The video covers letters, vocabulary, a story, patterns, and so forth. The video is animated and I love all the colors. It seems to be very engaging. I was really surprised with the vocabulary as there were a couple bigger words in a couple of these months. One that stands out is Jubilant. It does explain to the child what it means and uses examples. I will give you an example of one of the videos. It focused on the Letter J. It asked you what made the J sound. It should the big J and little j. As you read through the story which the words are on the bottom it highlights the J words. I noticed color patterns in the video and some math as well. If you think about it there is science to as in the habitat a reindeer lives in and how they find food. There is lots of learning to be had in the videos.

You also have a PDF of the story that you can read again and again. You can watch the video again and again as well. What I liked was the workbooks. There was roughly 40 pages of worksheets to print. The worksheets cover cognitive skills, visual tracking, math, science, reading, writing, cutting, drawing, coloring and more. I want to take a moment to tell you what the MESSY stands for.

M – mixed subjects for integrated learning

E – Engaging activities and questions that challenges the brain

S – Simple 1, 2, 3 steps, Read, Watch, Do

S – Smart designs for creative learning

Y – Yeah, a new way to provide brain growth

There really is such a wide variety in the worksheets. You probably don’t have to print them all if you are worried about the use of ink. There are some reading comprehension questions and story recall that you could actually have the child answer or point to. I would really recommend printing the writing pages. There is one that is actually my favorite type of worksheet that I loved using when my kids were young. It is a coloring page where you write, trace, and color. I loved seeing how creative they could be on their coloring. My daughter of course always liked everything as a rainbow. At times she still does. To even extend the learning even more. You could add letter art projects as well. You could incorporate some sort of baking with a recipe that starts with the letter. You could make fun looking letter snacks.  Can you tell I love teach the younger kids as I have so many ideas?

Each month focuses on a different theme. New things are added each month to be taught, but there are many things that have the same concept.
