Princess Cut DVD Review

Lately for me, I have been finding it hard to come across a really good Movie. I don’t watch a lot of movies as I don’t really have the time. I recently had the chance to review Princess Cut by Watchman Pictures. I have to say it was one of the best christian romance movies I have seen in a long time. One thing you can walk away from is that true love is worth the wait!

Princess Cut is about a young girl in her 20s that has dreamed all her life about marrying “Mr. Right”. The young girls name is Grace. The movie starts out with her in jewelry store looking at a Princess cut ring and being excited because her boyfriend Stewart had something to tell her. She goes home and get ready and gets a phone call to met him at the dinner. She really wasn’t impressed with his friends or how they were acting. She wants to leave but before she does she says you have something special to tell me. Stewart stands up and announces his engagement to another girl. Grace is devastated. She doesn’t understand why she has to go through all this hurt and feels that God doesn’t want her to get married.

One of the things that you can take away is that Grace goes through different relationships. She is devastated by Stewart and then meets Jared. She really enjoys spending the time with Jared but then he tries to be a little more physical then she is comfortable with. It really weighed on her as she didn’t feel she could tell her parents the truth. She finally did and her dad’s advice was to basically focus on being who God wants her to be and to let God bring love to her when the time is right. At first she wasn’t really happy with the answer but she realized she wanted to get back into communication with God.

I should mention that Grace’s family is Christian. They live on a family farm that has been around for generations. Right now times are a little tough and they aren’t sure that they will make it as one of the tractors they needed to harvest the soybeans was broken. They had to do everything by hand. By a little faith and not giving up things did end up working for the family. I don’t really want to give that away either.

Grace then meets Clint. Clint is a doctor and he also helps the family on the farm. Over the past few months he has really grown to like the family and went to Grace’s dad to ask permission to get to know her for a possible marriage. His intentions were clear and Godly. He really had good character. He wasn’t afraid of hard work and he was very caring. Well then an unexpected visitor comes to town and tries to stir up trouble….Do Grace and Clint Date? What happens to them at the end of the movie? I really don’t want to tell you  as it will spoil the ending.

I really enjoyed watching the special features. The Making of the Princess Cut was very interesting as it talked about the characters and the setting. The director and his wife have 7 children that they homeschool. I really thought that was amazing to homeschool and be directing a movie. The Deleted Scenes were ok. I really liked the Blooper Reels. I cracked up laughing. The Behind the Scenes was interesting as well. It’s nice to see what goes into the movies and how it is made. It’s also nice to hear how the actors release to the characters.

My thoughts:

I really did enjoy watching this movie. I did watch it alone because everybody else was doing there thing. I could see this sparking some good conversations. I think this movie sends a lot of great messages through it. It talks about finding yourself and serving others, and letting love find you. It really truly is worth the wait. I thought the actors did a great job in this movie and they fit their parts well. I loved the farm setting as well. If your looking for a good romance movie, I highly suggest checking out Princess Cut.
