Easter 2018

This Easter was a little different then most for us, as we didn’t have anyone over, nor did we go anywhere. The only one that came over was my oldest son. I had made one of his favorite dinners of chicken and rice in the crockpot. We got a lot of things done around the house that needed to be done.

Saturday we were suppose to go to an Easter Event but the roads were a slushy mess so we stayed home. We waited for the snow to end and we headed to the store to get some easter eggs and candy. We surprised my daughter and her friend with a Easter Egg Hunt. We hid the eggs all across the  yard. Did they have a blast.

Later that night my daughter and I decorated Easter Eggs. The kit this year had glitter in it. You dyed the eggs first and then you could decorate with glitter. You had these double sided sticker shapes and then you could add glitter to them. You could also put the glue in a bag and then add glitter and rub it all around the egg. Either way they both looks really neat. It does make a mess but it was worth it.

To finish off the night we ended up watching I Kill Giants. I had no idea that the makers of Harry Potter made that movie. I never thought it would end the way it did. It wasn’t what I was expecting but it was still a pretty good movie.

Sunday I spent the day cleaning as I haven’t really had the chance or the energy to do that with all the commotion that has been going on the last couple weeks. We hid all the kids Easter baskets. My oldest made me laugh because the way he looks for things is hilarious. He can’t see what is right in front of him. He was looking all over, both high and low. I really laughed when he looked under the table and said, “Is it in the Lincoln Logs?”…..I was like that would have been a good spot for it. We told him it was in plain sight and he finally found it. The others found theirs right away.

Now I am looking forward to the this week and getting back on our schedule! I don’t think we have any field trips or anything out of the ordinary this week. So it will feel good to get back on track again. It’s April and now we are suppose to get a snow storm. They are expecting 6 – 12 inches of snow. I am not really crazy about that. It is gorgeous outside today though. I almost want to go for a walk this morning.

I hope that you all had a wonderful Easter! I enjoyed ours even though it was quiet.
