Pi Day is March 14 (3.14) and there are some fun ways to celebrate this national (and tasty) holiday around town!
The Pi symbol is a constant value in math that represents the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter, which equals 3.14 (and so on). Not only that but March 14 is also the birthday of Albert Einstein – a double reason to celebrate this mathematical holiday!
Several places around Tampa Bay are joining in on the fun. Whether you love math or pie (or both), here are some spots to check out on Thursday, March 14.
Glazer Children’s Museum
110 W. Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa
Head to GCM for an epic pie fight in Curtis Hixon Park! This event is free with museum admission and starts appropriately at 3:14 pm and will feature special guest Albert Einstein himself, played by a museum Playologist.
In addition to getting messy, kids can enjoy pizza, sing happy birthday to Albert Einstein, and challenge their math skills with Pi-themed programs. Safety goggles and ponchos will be provided but guests are welcome to bring their own.
MOSI
4801 E. Fowler Ave., Tampa
Stop by MOSI any time between 11 am-2 pm and enjoy a slice of pie and fun, math-themed activities! Find out how Pi is used, play a game of Assemble the Pi(e), test your skills in a Pi themed ring toss, come up with Pi Ku Poetry, and more! As a bonus, you can grab a slice of pie from Mike’s Pies (while supplies last). This event is free with museum admission.
Mathnasium of Carrollwood
14441 N, Dale Mabry Hwy., Tampa
Join Mathnasium for a day filled with games, snacks, ice cream from Baskin Robins, prizes, and activities! Stop by between 5 pm-7 pm for the chance to be crowned PI DAY CHAMPION! This event is open to everyone, include those not enrolled in the center.

7-Eleven

7-Eleven stores are serving large pizzas for $3.14. You can purchase in-store using the loyalty program, through the 7-Eleven app, or the 7NOW delivery app.

Get an 11-inch pizza for $3.14. To be eligible, you need to download their app, set up an awards account, and select your location.
