May 4 MEETING RECAP

Our current Lieutenant Governor, Denny Sharma, attended and gave us an update of happenings in our Division. He talked about Club attendance. Most clubs have an average of 50% attendance. Our clubs need to grow and increase membership. Members are aging and we need to bring in younger members. Younger people like projects and not meetings with meals. They also have limited time and income. Membership growth is the emphasis this year. Denny uses our newsletter to show his club how to improve their newsletters.
Denny has agreed to serve as Lt. Governor for another year since no one came forward to fill the position. He commended the Labelle Club for the fantastic job they did with the last Division Council Meeting (DCM). June10th is the next DCM which will be at Lakes Park. Our club will host the 4th quarter DCM
Clubs need to share information on speakers who talk about kids. He will send a link for a speaker on Biz Kids Expo. Denny encouraged our club to send 2 people to the International Convention.
Jerry showed a fun video featuring Tim Conway as Dorf on Golf. He had a golf mat where members took turns trying to hit a wiffle type golf ball onto the mat where it would stick with velcro. The person with the highest score received an extra 50/50 ticket. Dave Butler won with 200 points. Jim Nestler also received a ticket for getting a hole in one. Denny won the 50/50 raffle. He donated some of the funds back to the club.
Our casino Night fundraiser was held last Friday evening. The event was a success—we had a good turnout and everyone had fun. Results from the event are not yet available. Thanks to Dave Butler for chairing and to everyone who helped.
