-3 cloves garlic, minced (optional, you can skip if you don’t eat garlic)

Method: 

  1. Soak the moong dal overnight. 
  2. Grind it with salt(option) in a grinder and make a smooth and consistently flowing batter. 
  3. In a large pot, combine the moong dal, finely chopped onion and bell pepper, and garam masala. Stir well
  4. Add the cumin seeds and turmeric, and stir well. Let the spices rest for few minutes. 
  5. Mix the garlic and 1/4 cup of water in a separate bowl. Pour this mixture over the spices in the pot, and stir well to combine. 

Your batter for cheela is ready. Now apply oil or ghee to the frying pan, and pour the batter. Cover it and let it cook for 5 minutes. Then turn the side, use ghee/ oil, cover the pan and let it cook for another 5 minutes. 

You can stuff the chilla with crumbled paneer, and then fold them. Be sure to use fresh ingredients, so the flavor of the moong dal is apparent.
