We first reported on the Wow! Stuff deal with Universal last year, with the launch of the brands first Jurassic World merchandise, in the form of their light-up Wow! Pods product line.

This latest product from the deal is a movie-scale, hyper-realistic animatronic toy of Beta – the new juvenile Velociraptor who makes its debut in the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion movie. Given that the character is Beta, it’s not quite clear why they’ve gone for the name “Baby Blue”, however, it’s not that important either.

The toy has over 20 sound effects – being able to roar, chatter, snarl, and purr – as well as having a range of actions, including protect, lunge, battle, and bite. Given the description, you can expect this toy to be similar to something from the FurReal Pets range in terms of functionality.

It features a pretty unique glove incorporated into its design, which you use to hold the toy – it’ll be interesting to see how this is used to interact with it. As well as the glove, it also has touch sensors in its head.

It’s no secret to anyone familiar with our blog, that we’re big fans of all things robot dinosaurs – with our collection even having a few FurReal Friends dinosaur toys in it – we we’re pretty exciting for this one.

RealFX Baby Blue is rated for kids aged 7+ years and will retail for $99.99, although it’s not yet clear when it will come out and at which retailers you’ll be able to pick it up.

We did come across a listing for it over at Cool Shop, but this didn’t have much in the way of detail. Out best bet would be a little later this year after Jurassic World: Dominion is in theatres, likely at the start of Q3 2022 in the run up to the holiday season.
