What Moms Want Actually on Mother's Day

On this day, we shower different gifts on our moms such as flowers, dresses, accessories, outings, sweets and savories, and so on. But let's get real and hear directly from the Moms what they want to do and how they want to spend the day!

No household chores

Moms have endless household chores on their platters every day. Here is what Karalee has to say-

"I wish to spend the day where I can sleep in and I do not have to cook or clean. I do not want to have to think about what is for breakfast or dinner for one day, and I also do not want the dishes to pile up!"

-     - Karalee, Roskilde, Denmark ( talesofbelle.com )

Break from Motherhood Duties

A break from Motherhood duties is essential!

Motherhood duties are considered to be a mom's tasks leaving them exhausted and burnout. Check out Claire's take on Mother's Day celebration idea-

"My only wish for Mother's Day is to be able to switch my brain off from motherhood for an hour or so. Time to myself would be an added bonus, but just having someone to take over the mental load of motherhood for me would be incredible. Every day from the moment my kids wake up to the minute they go to bed, my day is dictated by them. I'd love for just an hour to be able to switch off from that."

Spend the Day with Family

Family time on Mother's Day

What moms want is an exclusive time with their family that includes a little bit of fun with kids and much-awaited couple time as well. This is what Sarah has to say-

"My perfect Mother’s Day would be having a special breakfast at home with my husband and three sons, skipping the dishes, then spending the day with my whole family outside, like going for a walk at the park with playgrounds where I can watch them play, or play basketball or soccer with them, followed by a date night with my husband.

It would be wonderful to have a couple hours to myself to run and write, too. Most importantly, there would be no housework, but it would all somehow magically get done!"

Watch Favorite Music Concert

Daily life seldom leaves some time to enjoy favorite activities but this day for moms means treating yourself to what you always wanted to enjoy. Laurie is looking forward to such time, read this-

"I’m taking my daughters to see Taylor Swift with me on Mother’s Day. We don’t have tickets yet but we will get them!!"

-     - Laurie Somma, New York City

Create a Collage of Memories

This is the time to look back with fondness and recollect beautiful memories with kids. That's what Preeti believes in, check out here-

Start the Day with Gratitude

While the world acknowledges mothers for their selfless love, but moms never fail to thank the Almighty for what she possess.

"God has blessed me with two beautiful kids. I would love to begin my Mother's Day by taking my kids to the temple or Gurudwara to seek Almighty's blessings, followed by lunch at one of our favorite restaurants and then shopping. And after returning home, enjoy dinner prepared by the kids!"
