However, there are many dogs, abandoned by humans in shelters or on the streets, left alone until their dying days. This happens all over the world, and every day a dog dies alone somewhere in a corner of the Earth. While most people are apathetic, Nicola Cowell decided to do something for older dogs. So she built a dog kennel in Mansfield to help these grieving dogs spend the dying moments of their lives in love and serenity.

At a time Nicola can only afford two dogs, those with several months to live or those on the euthanasia list. You usually get them from shelters that try to take care of them, because they deserve it.

The thought of these unfortunate animals dying alone and without the love and care they need breaks this sweet woman’s heart. Therefore, she does her best to make the moments, weeks or months of death of these fragile creatures meaningful.

Every dog has its own sad story, and almost every dog is left behind by humans because they get too old, or because they don’t have the money to care for them or pay for the vet.

Nicola spends almost £500 on a puppy. She prepares a birthday celebration for them, even though she has no idea when their birthday is. The friendly woman brings them to the seaside to look for fish or ice cream on the beach. They also go to a neighborhood bar and have dinner there. Thanks to Nicola, these old dogs have a chance to be happy and a little loved.
